The line where Johnny saying that Gyro doesn’t have that selfish hunger to defeat DIO is ironic due to the fact that not only is he defeated by DIO but it’s a call back to Jonathan who also lacked the ruthlessness it takes to beat DIO.

I think while improving himself during the race while being with Gyro Johnny lost the selfish hunger to defeat Dio (at that he is even able to walk, so there is nothing selfish about pursuing Dio, he is only trying to protect the corpse from the hands of greed) There is even a moment in the fight when Dio uses human shields, Johnny could have keep shooting Tusk 4 until killing him (well maybe he didnt understand what happen by being in the sewer but i guess he could have shooted more times to be sure while disregarding the danger of the watchers of the race).

JoJo's Colored Adventure team is a team of translators, not painters. Coloring was done in Japan by a different team. I've made the same mistake recently. Sorry for my bad English.

Araki's character writing is perhaps his biggest improvement from the original universe to SBR. The cast of characters in SBR and JoJolion, in terms of character complexity and depth, blow every other part out of the water. Deciding to write a strictly adult-orientated manga was the best decision of Araki's career.

Well, he is the main protagonist in SBR. He didn't have something like others did (stand power) and tried to overcome with it, which is a main premise of some other shonen manga. Arguably has the best arc in the series ( true man's world), and HIS POSE IS TOTALLY OVERWHELMING compared to his sidekick Johnny. This is why this series called Steel Ball Run, not emphatizing the JJBA part 7 thing.

Well yes but actually no, the eye gave him an upgrade to his spin. And that stand that we saw at the Ringo fight is the guardian of the right eye. Finally, ball breaker is the physical embodiment of the zeppeli spin after gyro perfected it, so theoretically anyone who can replicate that spin can also manifest ball breaker. Gyro whole ability was strictly texhnique

This whole video is spoilers so I feel okay saying this. Imagine going on an incredibly dangerous and grueling journey all to save one innocent child. Imagine having what seems like the whole world against you, including the people you swore loyalty to for the sake of an innocent child. You've endured so much pain and lost so much but your determination to save that child's life keeps you pushing ahead. And then the kid later catches a cold and dies. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that.

I just wanna mention that technically none of the characters in Jojo’s have an “official” color scheme until the anime comes out, even then it’s up in the air though since Araki does his manga in black and white (with shading of course). However I do think purple is a very fitting color for Gyro since his family is connected to the royalty of Naples.

sizing down the main party to two characters was the perfect decision, johnny and gyro both have great fully-realized arcs and a wonderful dynamic with one another. plus side characters like hot pants and diego are strictly around for chapters that are directly relevent to their own arcs, solving the problem of less-relevent allies like fugo and ermes being background characters for a lot of their part.
