Dr Pol comes from the netherlands. from the state friesland if i'm not mistaken. and he evens speaks the language. Never knew that till my mom told me this.

Quick question, when I was at the vets with my two kittens, one was being a bit difficult and I got it by the scruff to help hold her for the vet and the vet quickly said “don’t hold her by the scruff!” The vet seemed pissed tbh. She then told me that you shouldn’t hold them by the scruff or restrain them but I was very confuse as their mothers carry them by the scruff, I’m not exactly going around carrying my kittens by the scruff but I genuinely thought i was helping and it was okay to do😂 maybe it is and the vet just doesn’t like doing it to animals.. who knows!

Usually when kittens grow it isn’t good to hold them by the scruff because they get too heavy, and it can be painful to hold a heavier animal just by the scruff of their neck. The mother does hold them by the scruff of the neck, but only when they are a few weeks old and not after that.
