What a nice story, thanks for sharing with us. She must have inspired many girls during and after her life. Those horse paintings are probably my favorite among all of them, even though the deer are also beautiful.

She had a good dad...her work seems mostly like still life..except for the horse market painting, which is really dynamic.

Yes, he took care of Rosa after her mom died when Rosa was 11 years old. And he made sure that all her her siblings got the proper education to become artists as well.

She painted a variety of animals, but perhaps most of all, she painted cows. But also a lot of horses, sheep, dogs, etc. And Gericault and Meissonier were also great horse painters.
