Albania already qualified to Euro 2016. But I think they are now building from it to become better. Many of these players have some experiences since that Euros. Still it will take them a tremendous effort to reach what Greece has achieved and it is quite a problem. If reaching out Euro 2024 is possible, they must find the way to go to the World Cup, an easier said than done. Let’s see if Albania can fulfil it.

There is another reason why Albania (and partly Moldova) have such shocking results: Poland's mistake itself. The question raises me here is why Poland hired Fernando Santos, who has completely zero knowledge about Poland, to coach them? His successes with Greece and Portugal were due to the fact that he was very familiar: with Greece, he worked there for many years and he understood Greek to some extent, whereas Portugal is his country. In some way, he achieved with Greece because Greece was like his home country, whereas Portugal is his home already. Poland was like a foreign land for Santos. Their previous effort with Paulo Sousa had been a disaster and it is clear Portuguese managers are unfit for Poland.
