I know this video took a bit longer to make but I really wanted to do it justice. I hope you enjoy! If you did, and also think more people should know about her, feel free to send it to a friend or share it on social media - tag me and I will be sure to show it some love. #NotForgotten If you are new around here and you love movies and film history, you'd make one Toni (that's me) really happy by checking out the channel and subscribing. A lot of exciting projects in the making so I hope you stick around! - Toni

I am a film lover and an aspiring film student who is preparing for an entrance exam for the Film Institute in India, I had read about her long ago but never in detail, today after reading about her and watching this video, tears came rolling automatically and Idk why, maybe it has something to do with her message "BE NATURAL" . Most importantly her love and passion for films and how she dedicated her whole life, especially in that time for an accidentally found art form, is inspiring. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO, LOVE FROM INDIA💌. 💌

Toni that is a phenomenal tribute and so excellently told. Alice would be pleased that her story was told in such an endearing, accurate and emotional way. Myself, being in the movie industry all my life, had not heard of Alice Guy-Blache, so thank you for filling in my knowledge gap of this important person and her contributions.

That's incredible! I can't believe she's so unknown considering how innovative she was. Thanks for enlightening me!

Such a brilliant woman! I love her... but this is life. The industry is a monster, you play with it or you're out. Oh well, she was really authentic and truly original

Wouldn't it be absolutely wonderful if the Cannes Film Festival and the Oscars gave out a yearly award to filmmakers who specialize in innovative movies in Alice-Guy-Blache's name?

In my (vast) hoard of movie 'stuff' I have what looks like a prototype 35mm camera that is remarkably similar to the one shown at 2:38. It is constructed of hand made wooden parts with a pull down film movement. It is very rough. There is a hole (but no lens) - have never been able to work out exactly the history of this camera box. Also used to own a pair of Gaumont-Kalee 35mm cinema projectors that I got from an old closed down movie theatre. They were very reliable and widely used projectors.

Madame Blanche is a boss! She is the pioneer and story innovator that all in the industry in the teens knew was the blueprint and standard to copy. When they talk of the French new wave, she was the original wave before America was on top.
