I present to you The Indian River Aquarium. A little different to my usual builds as a lot less plants and a simple hardscape. This is one of those tanks that should grow in really well and have great additions of fish as the aquascape progresses.

At 72, it is unlikely that I will ever have an aquarium again, but I really enjoy your content. I do have a pond, paludariums, canaries and a pug to keep me busy. I had a 75 gallon, heavily planted, Rainbow Fish community in the past. ( I'm a bit surprised that you haven't added Irian Red Rainbow Fish or Blue Rainbow Fish to your community) However, the amount of enjoyment that your content brings is almost as good as owning an aquarium. I share your love of plants, it is one reason I keep frogs, I can collect miniature rare plants that enjoy warmth and very high humidity. I am growing emersed Bucephalandras, and Hydrocotyle "Japan". Two species I first learned about from you. I follow Matt as well. I really enjoy your banter with him. Your and Matt's irrepressible good humour is infectious! I can't wait to see how this build progresses. I am wondering if you can restrain yourself from adding more plants. I think you should seek counseling for your Pearlweed addiction!

U can look into western ghats of India. It's one of the most prominent biodiversity hotspots of the world and is a home to several fish species, so ull find great additions for ur tank :). Also if you want to make it a full barb tank then consider adding rosy barbs, Odessa barbs and also filament barbs (one of the fanciest barbs) they all have Indian origins

I bought a bunch of those plastic bags, they are great not only for aquasoil but also for biomedia! In bucketfilters it is usually contained in trays wich makes maintenance easy. But most of my other filters are modified HOBs with only biomedia inside and then a sponge on the intake. Using those bags makes maintenance SO much easier and everything stays nicely in place 😍

It is always such a pleasure watching your videos, and I have learned a lot from them as well! I was a big fish enthusiast in my teen years, and now that I finally got the opportunity again after a decade and a half, I got myself a new tank and set it up the way I learned from you, with the mesh bags filled with Fluval and everything. Plants are doing pretty darn well, had to do some clipping a couple times already, and the few fish I have are doing well too; as I have to move before the end of the year, I only have a cleanup crew in my tank so far consisting of 5 panda corys, two siamese algae eaters, a saigon algae eater and a redtail shark, plus 10 shrimp (a mix of cherry, rili and crystal) and those have bred at least twice already since I see lots of different sized babies! Thank you for the inspiration and all the time you take to bring us these wonderful and educational videos! 😊Cheers from the Netherlands!

When I first started this hobby I had a small tank 38L , but it never went well and I had a lot fish loss plants melting etc and I was about to give up on the whole thing. Then I found your channel and since watching all your videos I now have a 125L tank and basically copied everything that you do except the fish in cycle as I didn’t feel comfortable with that or experienced enough to pull that off so I cycled no fish. But I have to tell you my tank looks amazing compared to before and I have lost no fish and plants look awesome. Me personally I found using the bags means I can’t plunge my stem plants or my root tabs as deep as I’d like.. the bags stop you. I like how the bags keep everything separate but not that I can’t plunge new stems or root tabs as deep as I’d like later down the road as the tank ages and needs replacement items here and there.. I’m into nano tanks so making the substrate even deeper isn’t an option as I loose swim room.. Excellent video ❤ I’ve learned so much watching you and a few others across the pond thank you for the time you invest

Your right MD, I use local ferns in my snakehead tanks, they look almost identical to java ferns. Nice collection of fish, I think you'll love the mascara barbs (dawkinsia assimilis)

Awesome aquascape and I love all the fish you added into it. I can't wait to see how it develops overtime. I am currently a beginner fish keeper. I can't wait to get bigger tanks so I can do an aquascape like you! :)

I was buzzing when there was a Maidenhead aquatics in gosforth, I just moved out and wanted to make a tank, got some neon tetras been running about a week and all good. The staff were great and these vids helped me a lot

This is great, I am from India and have been following your channel for a long time now. I was really hoping to see Pinnatifida UK in the video. It colors up in good lighting and grows bushier with regular trims. For algae eating fishes you can try Sucatio or Balitora.

That does it. You pushed me into changing my QT 10g into a little Indian tank with my leftover pogostemon.

Great to see the Indian theme and Denisons as focal ones. They are treat to see while shoaling. Would advise to have lid on the tanks since they are heavy jumpers. You must have it spare from the Discuss tank. 😊

I really enjoyed that too. It is my second favorite thing about dining in Indian Restaurants, after the incredibly delicious food!

I'd love to see filament barbs (Dawkinsia filamentosa) alongside the denison barbs and drape fin barbs! I've been wanting to see a large build with these fish, and this would be such an awesome tank to do it in. See if Matt can also get you the albino denison barbs because they are yellow with red stripes! Hillstream loaches would also look great on those flat rocks, and they're native to India. Also, if you want a moss-type plant, there are like 90 different Fissidens species in India.
