Fun Fact: Ho Chi Minh actually wanted the Kuomintang to help Ho in order to make Vietnam independent, however, Chiang didn't really like Ho Chi Minh and basically imprisoned him for 18 months.

Im so glad you included Khun Sa and republic of china druglords in the mix. During the Nguyen Dynasty, Dai Viet have some expansion wars to the South that called "March to the South" or "Nam Tiến" in Vietnamese. Us Vietnamese even conquered the whole Cambodia and annexed it into our territory and called it "Trấn Tây Thành". Yeah, you heard that right. Cambodia was actually a part of Vietnam. If the French didn't come and splited the territories in the region then Cambodia would still be a part of Vietnam today. So France basically saved Cambodia from Vietnam 🤣🤣
