@gregthompson80624 жыл бұрын
This is a great review and i'm sure of it form looking at the specs it's a great machine but let me say this. If you take the clone version of the Juki 1541s the specs outdo everything in this category. Bobbins are same (M type) Same Needle System (135x16) It is a walking foot as well which makes a world a difference when sewing through heavy stuff as you mention in the video. But the spec of 14mm presser foot lift on the sailrite compared to the Juki 1541s or clone version which gives 16mm lift, it will be easier to get your foot under those thick materials. I own a 1541s and I made a leather bag with 210 thread on top and bottom bobbin no problem. I also added a speed reducer system so you get even more torque and control when needing that extra power and control on those areas where you need to slow it down. The 1541s also has a bobbin winder integrated into the machine. But the bid defining factor is many upholstery shops and factories all over the world use 1541s clones. Why? Because parts are very easy and affordable to come by Sailrite. Not so much. If you are going to spend the money go with the 1541s or clone version. I'm sure this machine will serve you well non the less. Bottom line any sewing machine is better than no sewing machine so thats really all that matters. Cheers
@juancedeno66503 жыл бұрын
Greg Thompson Hi, which brand would be the Juki clones? What about Consew? Thank you
@gregthompson80623 жыл бұрын
@@juancedeno6650 I would say the 1541s or any other clone of the 1541 as it's a walking food machine. The Juki clone of 1508 is also a very solid machine and build to handle heavier than the 1541s But in my opinion those are the ones to look out for. Any upholstery grade walking foot machine will be the key to your projects that you will not grow out of no matter how far you take your sewing. Unless you do heavy leather work. But that's anohter topic.

It’s one gorgeous machine for sure! I have five industrial machines that I use in my home business of doing custom window treatments cushions pillows etc. I bought them all used from a factory that refurbishes machines. I am retiring and looking to replace several of those machines with one machine for home sewing my own stuff. This looks like it might be a good one except it doesn’t zigzag. It’s ridiculous how expensive some of the home sewing machines are and they seem like junk after sewing on a good industrial machine! Sailrite has great videos on how to fabricate relaxed Roman shades along with charts on the web so you can plug in your own numbers to get your cuts. Great company. And by the way, if anyone wants to make a business doing custom window treatments, there is lots of business out there!

To anyone who has never sewn on an industrial machine, she is not kidding with her enthusiasm and flood of "amazing" remarks. It's a WORLD of difference from a lightweight plastic domestic machine, and you will likely be hooked for good. Especially if you get one like this with a compound feed walking foot. Can it do a bazillion stupid decorative stitches that nobody actually cares about? Nope. Can it stitch dead straight with precision and power through pretty much anything you care to stuff under the presser foot? You betcha.
@jvin2484 жыл бұрын
Run a sew off with this machine and the 1940s-50s Singer model 15s. The sailright has a walking foot feature which is great but those old machines, often under $200 in working condition with a table, were used in dressmaker and repair shops to sew thick and challenging fabrics as well as the super light weight fabrics. In the 60s Singers started adding nylon gears (which can dry out and fail) and then from the 80s+ went mostly plastic all over.

There certainly are many other industrial walking foot brands and models that are as good, and often better. The big difference is that Sailrite as a company is dedicated to focusing on providing heavy duty and industrial capability to the DIY hobbyists and small cottage industry consumers. You will get very capable machines and more importantly, very dedicated ongoing customer support and service if needed.
