Agree- I have an industrial (Juki DDL-8700-7) and I also have a Bernina Aurora 450 and juki F600 domestic sewing machines for sewing knits. But I’ll rather just have all industrial sewing machines for sewing knits too. prefer sewing with an industrial sewing machine.

We used the Juki DNU-1541s to make a whole lot of stuff for the US military. It is the machine I learned how to sew on. I also went out and bought one. Start by buying the Juki, then figure out what you "Can not" do with it. Buy those machines later. All you need is Juki.

My mom tought me how to sew throughout my teenage years (so at least 20 years ago) on an old industrial singer. Then, when I left for university she got me a travel machine for me to be able to fix up my stuff. I've been missing the industrial ever since so I bought a used old juki for 100$ off of marketplace, it needed a bit of love but otherwise is working like a charm.

I have a TL-2010Q; I got it about 5 or 6 years ago and I absolutely love it. About 3 years ago I upgraded from my little Singer to an HZL-DX7, and the two machines compliment each other and do everything I want to do. I rarely make bags, etc., mainly quilts and I usually do my own quilting. The TL is awesome for that. I use both machines for piecing, and the DX7 is fantastic for all those decorative stitches and great features. I"m a totally happy Juki owner!

Great show I don't think I would ever need an industrial machine later on down the road I would be interested in a Juki mid to long arm that could set on a frame. But I am so happy with my TL 2010 I got last summer, I am glad I made the step from domestic to simi-industial, it really sold me on Juki Machines!!

This is such an awesome and informative video. Wish you guys were in Canada. I predominantly make bags (but not full-time) and have outgrown already, my fairly new, computerized Brother NQ700. I went to my local sewing machine store and they tried to sell me a very expensive industrial machine, that I knew I didn't have room for. After much research, and binge watching your videos, I just ordered from Amazon, the TL-18! I'm so excited and can't wait to get it!

I was scared too, but I got so tired of my domestic kept breaking and needing repair (not Juki)...and obviously my machines weren't made for the kind of sewing I was doing. I have a Juki DDL 8700 industrial - any issues have been my own- and even those have been few. It is perfect for the sewing of tops that I do. I still have my other machines for other things. If I could I'd get other Jukis and expand my machine selection and explore bag making with a heavier duty one.

Just got my 1541S. It is a beast! I put the stand, motor and the entire thing together myself. What I will say…. It does NOT like thinner layers. If you do quilt cotton at all…. Don’t get the 1541S. Unless you have another machine to use along side it like I do. I have the TL18 as well. I love them both equally the same.

As a side note, I've watched several garment factory videos out of East and South Asia. While they all do use industrial machines, they use like a dozen different types of industrial machines for sewing the various garment pieces together, each specialized for the task. Also, if you want to make bags, you need to clarify what kind of material you want to make your bags out of: vinyl, cork, leather, cotton lightweight canvas, etc.?

The TL and 1541 are both solid machines that you can’t go wrong with but I think the 8700, 5550 and 1181 are also great options for home users. I use a machine that is equivalent to an 1181. I think it is more capable than people think. I wouldn’t want to convince someone to get an 1181 when a 1541 would be better for them but I think people sometimes get a 1541 when an 1181 would be more than adequate. It’s often not an easy call though. What I really hate seeing is someone thinking they are not good at sewing when it is their machine that is letting them down. The actual machine I have is a Chinese brand, Zoje, that is rebranded as Singer. It has never let me down but I would still recommend paying a little extra for the Juki.

That's awesome; like for me it all boils to first, what kind of person you are? Beginner or experienced?? Coz for beginners I will just say - go simple, go easy not cheap though. Because you're more on learning and exploring so never invest into something your new to it. But on the other person is more on Quality of the project, and features at least for what I see. Both machines are good just for specific person who truly knows what he or she is up to.

I have a domestic machine, a brother CS10S That I love. I've only had it since march and it is serving me well whilst I am learning. My ability to learn how to sew/make bags has taken me quite by Surprise and whilst my little domestic is doing well, she is struggling on some points which has sparked my interest in looking at industrial machines for the thicker fabrics/layers. So here I am looking for your recommendations. I see alot of Juki in youtubes, and some have a Jenome. I know a walking foot is a great benefit & maybe a needle position adjuster. Im in the UK. The 1541s is a bit out of my budget and i think probably a bit OTT at the moment ... possibly. Which brings me to the 1181N...... I could do with some help please 😊😊😊

the 1181 is still a great machine with its limitations on vinyl, leather and dense synthetic materials. No more than 4 of a medium weight type of synthetic is recommended. So you just have to decide if thats a good thing or bad thing for the types of bags you make :)

I bought the 1541. Definitely should have waited or just for the 1181. I still sew 90 percent of the time on my TL. 😩 but please tell me what table is the TL in? I need it!!!!

I’m sick of having to hand crank over layers of seams, I have to save up for a Juki. I’ve been through 3 different machines, each better than the last. I’ve had to hand crank on all of them. I want to make my own bags and maybe some upholstery, and free motion quilting. I don’t know much about the TL series. I am aiming for the 8700. I’m cash strapped, so it will take me so long to save.

The 8700 is more of a machine for altering clothing, light work. Not bag making. Call us when you are ready and we will make sure we guide you properly.

I've never had a problem with buying a sewing machine in the shop I use the Janome mystyle 22 for years no bother at all. Don't need industrial sewing machine because I would not be using it to it's full potential. I have used so many industrial sewing machines I have lost count, fun to use miss them sometimes and yes they are the best of the best.

Industrial machines do not offer a FMQ ability so maybe something from the TL lines would be a good fit for you. Feel free to give us a call and we can go over the options with you :) 813-661-9000

Based on other videos I have watch that discusses this same question, I feel you could have gone into the pros and cons more thoroughly. Adding up the percent of time where you actually talked about a domestic machines strengths verses how much time you spent on talking about your company’s service, you’ve turned this into a commercial to sell your service when someone buys a sewing machine from your company.

Maintenance is easier than a domestic! It’s all sealed so there’s nothing to really take apart. All you do is add oil to the pan or oil reservoir.

this semi industrial 2010 you should compare with ddl 8700, not with 1541. if i need to make my choice, i would go by 8700. besides, parts ofr 2010 are a lot more expensive

I do not like sewing companies that sell sewing machines. They will say anything to sell a machine. Two different sewing stores told me to buy an Elnita sewing machine; that it is high quality and does like-industrial sewing. When I tried heavier material on it, it jumped all over the place and is no different than a cheap Singer machine. It's more for a beginner sewer. Another sewing store sold me to buy a Baby Lock embroidery machine, and said it would take heavy material too! The liars! When I tried heavier material in it, it jammed. So, I put out $1500 and don't use either one.
