Glad to see you're getting the hang of it! I like my .177 Cfx Royal. As I said before . . . very accurate with Geco wadcutters! Enjoy!!!

@@PapaTAdventures Early on I was having consistent performance with some heavy H&N pellets but I used those up and switched to lighter 14 gr pellets. I’ve found the heavier pellets to work better in my gun.

@@KIF-83 Thanks! I really like the underlever style rifle. I’m getting familiar enough with it that I’ll have a pretty good idea whether I got a good hit or not when shooting at paper targets at long range. I doubt I could shoot it well off hand but I’m just happy I’m seeing decent results now.

Well at least you can hit the pop cans now lol! Yo ushure have put a lot of effort into that gun that is for sure! Mine is still just a doors stop taking up room in one o fmy gun cabinets collecting dust. Funny thing I tried heavier pellets and mine hated them the H&N 14.66 grain ones always did the best for what I could call the best with the CFX. And yep I am one of the ones that bashes the hell out of the CFX lol! I thought I was going to like it but now I just love to hate on it lol!! Also that is what many people said to me is the CFX is 100% a project gun which is what you have found out as well over the 10 or so videos you have made with the CFX.
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Ай бұрын
I suspect if you refinish the crown on your CFX you’d see a significant improvement. We shouldn’t have to do that but it beats having another vertical dust collector leaned up against a wall. I’ve got enough of those types of airguns. 🤣

@@BravoBassin sounds like the guy from Thailand never got hold of you? Overall I’m now of the opinion the CFX isn’t a piece of garbage. The problems can be fixed for very little money or effort. It’s a reliable gun so for the right buyer knowing what they are getting into, the gun could be a good buy if they get it on sale.

@@airgunsofalaska No he did not get a hold of me. Well I am glad you finally got it to shoot half way decent. for me I will just keep shooting my weihrauchs and air arms as they are much nicer and a lot more fun to shoot for me. And they are all great hunting air rifles as well. But I am going to buy a Cometa soon to try out and they are in that $225 to $400 range depending on which version you buy.

at 50 yards that is pretty good remember a beer can is about 5 inches high and about 2.5 inches wide l just looked it up now at 50 yards away l don't know what or how to measure the area of the can at 50 yards.

I just have no idea what they did to mess up a gun that looks identical to the Accu model they stopped making? It's a bummer because it is getting harder to find affordable good shooting mechanical springers. I'm basically done getting new air piston guns, simply because the piston does not last as long as a good mechanical spring does.
@kevanhubbard9673
@kevanhubbard9673 8 күн бұрын
Plus you can change the spring yourself when it wears out but a nitro piston would be a challenge as most people wouldn't have the facilities to recharge the Nitrogen assuming that you can.

I am glad that my Accu .22 uses a steel spring. The fact that it still is shooting great 7 or 8 years later I feel if it had an air piston, it would have crapped out by now, However, since Gamo is not known for customer service I do wonder where I will get a replacement spring for it when it does finally break?.@@kevanhubbard9673

Hello again. Just picked up on this one so thought heres my 2pennorth(age related comment..)My CfX is a 177, gas ram. Had it a few years now. Gas ram settles at 12.5 fpe after a while at 13.7. I like thi gun alot, but, 177 is a bit fiddly to load when it gets colder. Apart from that, repaced seals on loading tap once, not that hard , just take your time. Took very little de burring of cylinder, if any at all, very different to my break barel Gamos that took a lot.Not very hold sensetive , much less than my old AA Prosport that I have never really loved.Just too pickey for me.Not pellet sensetive, accurate with alot of pellets to 25 yds, except Gamos !! And not had to re crown it. Thanks again, all the best Keith

@@keithbarker-e4q Thanks for the info! I viewer from Europe wrote me a while back and sent me a link to his video. He was seeing amazing accuracy at 50 yds with his older model CFX in .177. There is something just not right with the current production of the CFX guns here in the USA in .22 cal. While I got this springer to be decent, it still should be better than it is with much less effort on my part to shoot it perfectly. It’s a shame as it’s a well made gun that has a very nice feel and good fit and finish. It’d be interesting to see if someone could track the serial numbers and determine when the guns started seeing issues. I don’t know if they’ve corrected anything since I got mine but I likely won’t ever buy another Gamo under lever.

Good shooting. Thanks for the video! I have an airgun friend who is going to professionally fix my crown. In about a month I'll find out if it's better? I'm interested in finding out how good it was shooting the cans laying down shooting at about 2" diameter bottoms at 50 yard went? Thanks for sharing.

@airgunsofalaska Ай бұрын
@@gmanneod8085 Thanks! A professionally done crown would be a really nice upgrade. After I stopped filming I was hitting the can bottoms pretty consistently. I almost started filming again but I didn’t want a super long video. If I’m able to consistently hit 4-5 in a row I think I’ll make another video as that’s impressive to me. The heavy pellets seem more consistent and easier to shoot than the lighter pellets I was using.

@@chriswedgworth Yeah, I’d not recommend the gun to anyone but with the help of viewers it’s neat we figured out what was wrong with it. I don’t know how much time I’ve put into testing? Definitely shot a lot of pellets! Had the dumb thing worked as advertised none of that would have been necessary. I quite like the underlever design and the feel of the gun. I also like that it’s been very reliable. Still, had Gamo’s return policy not been such garbage I’d have sent it back within the first week or two.
