Guilty of all of the above. I am heartbroken for not knowing how annoying I am. I worked so hard to be independent, wise, and excel at my career, and nobody wants me to be those things? What do I do about all the things I still want to improve in me? 😢 I may die alone...

This is why there is a disproportionately high number of INFJs watching videos about themselves. We not only annoy others, we annoy ourselves as well. Although, in my defense, I can say I DO open up to others, they just rarely understand, so I give up.

This, so much this. Infj male here and at some point in my life i decided to take the initiative to open up to others. Biggest “i’ve made a huge mistake” ever. I found myself having to explain me as a concept. I got tired of melting brains so instead of opening up, i now only just show them who and what i am. I set out to be mythical and i succeeded.

Well, to be honest, I just piss everyone off all of the time , what I find most annoying about me is struggling to put thoughts into words and how folks expect me to put I lifetime of observations into a 10 second sound bite and I can't ! Some people can say in one sentence what would take me an encyclopedia britanica to say, and even then, it's utterly incomprehensible . Thank you and great observations

I think the way I analyze/question everything and sometimes voice my opinion from a perspective that most people don't see. Most people in our society tend to just accept life as it's presented to them, so when I question the "normalcy" of society we've constructed, it tends to annoy or irritate others

Yeah, I think for the longest, this is one of my biggest reason for remaining quiet around others by playing it too safe by not speaking my thoughts out loud. Most people think they can tolerate a different perspective until they hear people like us speak. Lol

In conversations, I’ve often played devil’s advocate in defending the belief or point of view of a person or persons even if I have personally differed with very strongly or detested it otherwise. This is most definitely an INFJ sort of thing, as other types (ENFPs and INFPs come to mind) tend to be more judgmental, absolutist, and highly vocal in denouncing someone else’s beliefs in black-and-white terms. Would this make me a good defense lawyer? Perhaps technically I could reach into a deep well of sophistry and pull up what was needed in a courtroom that would comprise an adequate or even eloquent defense. However, I could not, in good conscience, defend someone who I am convinced is guilty. An INFJ like myself you would never see as a courtroom attorney for that reason.

The last one hits way too hard. For me, this is the biggest one on my list. I have such a hard time stating boundaries with others, to the point where I get frustrated with myself as well when I cut that person out, because I know it is partially my own fault for not making it clear from the beginning. And once that person has been removed from my life I don't feel comfortable letting them back into it again.

Trust your instincts. Every human knows the basics of how to treat others with kindness, loyalty, reciprocity and good intentions. If anything other than that exists it’s A CHOICE! If they choose to surround you with deception or confusion, it’s A CHOICE! Door slam- no words could express how you feel towards their behavior. They won’t change anything. The door slam says it all loud and clear.

@@thirstonhowellthebird I believe in communication. One would think it’s possible to solve our problems with proper communication, to having an adult conversation. Unfortunately it’s not the case. Door slam helps you on the personal level. Basically ghosting is the same, just for different reasons to others. Where society goes, when people can or not willing to talk with each others? There must be a better solution! I really wish there IS. But it’s not to say that you are incorrect, when you say it’s a choice. When someone chooses not to understand you, then hardly can any explanation stuck with them. They hear what they want to hear. And maybe the silence loud and clear, it’s doesn’t make the situation less painful. At least for me. And they know it, which makes it even more painful 😥

Confession. My most annoying INFJ trait involves maintaining the balance of logic and emotion. I usually do well. It kind of make sense that the rarest of personality types would want to know themselves the most. Not only is the personality already analytical and introspective, but because of how _rare_ INFJ's are, it's therefore harder for us to relate to other people, leading us to try and find out why that is. I bet that's what brought a large percentage of viewers here today.

If I have an annoying trait to another, then that tells me that they cannot appreciate my INFJ essence. I am 74, I have been aware of my INFJ characteristics since my 30s. i have focused on developing my other functions, like thinking, and my shadow functions. It's rare to find another who can grock an INFJ. That's why our lives are more separate from others. What I have found sad is that we can appreciate their essence but they cannot even begin to understand or appreciate ours. We cannot be angry over that, but at the same time don't make yourself a target for someone's insecurity. Do your best to find a friend even if they are not an INFJ. There are a lot of INTJs or INTPs who can grock who you are.

🤣 5:42 before l pressed play l KNEW at some point the words "Know it all" would rear their head lol... It's a common misconception, but INFJs aren't "Know-It-Alls" per se, they are more along the lines of "Know-Betters"© And yes, l am keenly aware that l am demonstrating this very fact with my comment by attempting to give a *better* explanation of an INFJ behavior most confuse/don't know.😅 'Know-Betters'© (l'm copyrighting this btw lol) don't know it all nor do they posture as if they do. They just tend to be aware of different perspectives/mindsets on a matter which allows them to perceive the better one of them (note: they don't know all perspectives, just the best of the ones they know). Unfortunately, this "INFJ know a better way" modus operandi comes off to those who don't know better, as "know it all energy"... Nevertheless, *We don't know it all, we just intuitively tend to know better.* (Nota bene: Finally, pleeeeease don't conflate being right with knowing better; just because INFJs know better, it doesn’t make us right all the time. It is the "Know-it-alls" who think they are always right, whereas us INFJ "Know-Betters" are aware we can be wrong, we just know a better way of being wrong🤣...👈🏾 that's the distinction)

I would say my most annoying traits are my perfectionism, personality deduction, and my reserved nature. perfectionism; self explanatory. Personality deduction; sometimes so accurate it causes people (especially family and friends) to start covering over, deflecting, passing blame etc. That really erodes the relationship! I just can't with dishonesty. My aim is to help. You can't help those who are purposefully dishonest. Usually people are trying to preserve their ego or something of that nature when they don't admit their faults. Being open with those with those whom you're supposed to trust breeds formidable relationships. Dishonesty decimates them. Reservation; many times I just want to go to my local bar, great food by the way, and just chill with a book or bum off their wifi 😅watching music vids or psychology vids (with headphones) and be left be by the other patrons. (I know, odd place to go to be alone, but I live with people who don't give me peace. I figure strangers won't bother me; wrong). Same thing with my gym. People always wanna chat and shoot the breeze. Hello! I'm here to work and you're interrupting...! I mean... hi... how bout them Jays 🙄 and the weather or whatever. You can probably tell I'm a bit crotchety, but that's understandable when one is under stress. At least I get to be myself around my close friends and I'm 90% asocial. Sorry for dumping so much. I was wondering if anyone else has similar issues though
