To clarify what I meant by “non-religious,” I meant to describe somebody who typically does not devote themselves to a particular religion, to the point of allowing the religion to create division between people. This is opposite of maybe a Te-lead who’s very much like, “I don’t care who I upset. These are the rules.” And when push comes to shove, the INFP will typically seek interconnectedness over division and disharmony. EDIT: Because some people seem to have difficulty understanding this concept, I will add that if this clarification is not relatable to you, meaning devotion to your religion does tend to cause friction in your life, that it’s not easy for you to connect differing ideas together seamlessly, you are most likely not an INFP. You most likely do not have strong extroverted intuition.

Oh. I see. I understand it now. I care about interconnectedness. I am friends with people of other religions. Making connections has nothing to do with religions. But I am a religious INFP who doesn't care about religions when making friends.😂💗 Thanks Aimee💖

I'm very much a religious INFP. Very devoted to my religion and beliefs and it's where my values stem from. As for loving people though and creating connection there are not boundaries for what religions or beliefs you have. I respect others opinions and beliefs and will love and respect them even if our beliefs are not the same, and I do not lack commitment or devotion to my religion, quite the opposite. I'm very committed and devoted. I believe in Christ, and my values align with his. I claim the privilege of worshiping God and allow all men the same privileges to worship how, where, or what they may.

I think in the past, INFPs may have been the shaman or healers of the community, whom people would seek out for their wisdom, understanding, and insight. For that reason, and in our current "hustle" society, many INFPs are probably playing the game of life in advanced mode! 🎮 It must be pretty tough-going sometimes, but I value the amazing INFPs I know for their adherence to their values, their non-judgmental care for others, their endless creativity, and their offbeat sense of fun! 🥰 And much more.

This is a hard one. I used to know an infp that a lot of people turned to for support because they viewed him as empathetic and kind, but all I saw was an overgrown man-child/pouty cry baby. He came off immature, needy and dependant to me. Maybe he behaved differently around me, but I found him irritating, I'm not really a natural nurturer. I guess some people view the INFP as a healer but I see them as bottomless pits of neediness.

@@marybell2002 INFP's are naturally melancholic maybe that's what you picked up on? In our unhealthy phase of the personality type we can be self-piteous and quite frankly very self-absorbed but at our healthiest I believe we are healers as we know what it's like to feel immense sadness which can lend to our wisdom, empathetic and kind nature once we are able to pull ourselves out of that.

I like took the time to make something very similar growing up cause I just needed something to believe in, and humanism basically almost sums up what it is in a lot of ways.

Hmm...okay, I had to jump off my phone to write this since it might be hard to explain. Humanitarian is a good term, but I think when one bumps into an INFP who is religious, to prevent someone from feeling confused about their type since it sounds like a contradiction - it would be best to delve into what each term implies, what radiates in the background. Humanitarian is perfect for Fi, in general, but INFPs lack the straightforward A-B intensity ISFP receives from Se-Ni (seeing the object and knowing its purpose). INFPs are softer due to Ne-Si flexibility - what are they not seeing in the picture? what if there's a good reason why a person behaved this way? It would be difficult to be a humanitarian if you only acted as a judge dolling out punishments & rewards based off whether someone's broken the law or not. Judges aren't meant to be seen as cruel because they obviously need a firm grasp of the situation to give a fair ruling, however, if Se-Ni's judging the person will be harsher and less sympathetic - you did x, it caused y, so now z is the result, sorry not sorry, kiddo, that's the way life works. INFP will give you another chance to prove your virtue or take a hands-on approach to help you be better. Religious attitude has more Fe elements. A religious person will surrender completely to another entity and devote their life to it. Fi is loyal, which has a more cautious approach to it and they might deviate from a thing in the future - which, I think, is quite common for modern day Christians. Religious fits Ti, as well, since it's a completes their desire for a system and excuses its lack of empiricism.

Yeah, no worries! I would say that anything that has to do with interacting with objects is a blindspot for INFPs. And I mean that literally. If people consider you to be someone who has a good handle on bending physical objects according to your will, in any way shape or form, you are most likely not an INFP. If we take this literal meaning of objects and apply it in practice, imagine if you're in a situation where you have to make the physical environment bend to your will, including the people in it. The INFP will use the least forceful, most creative solution to bend or influence the environment, so that they don’t have to touch a single physical object. This is the goal anyway. This is because of their introversion (Fi), as well as their intuitive preference (Ne). So not only are they introverted, but their extroverted auxiliary function, that should be a tool for most people, is an intuitive function that doesn't even deal with what is concrete. So the go-to "tool" to interact with anything outside of the self is a tool that intuits more possibilities. "What else can we do? How can we improve?" It's always more, more, more, but hardly engaging directly with the object in front of you as it is, and seizing the opportunity. Quite literally, a person who "wouldn't hurt a fly." And if they needed to hurt the fly, this would be after entertaining and envisioning many different possibilities before doing so, kind of like the character Corporal Upham in this video. Hence, "the humanist" in society. Someone who not only believes in pacifism, but actively practices this in their daily lives, sometimes to their detriment. So if you relate to the type description in my video, but you can't eliminate other personality types because of what I just explained in this comment, then you may want to check out the other delta quadra types, such as the ENFP or ISTJ. Even some ESTJs will mistype themselves as INFPs. Hope this makes sense!

i felt I was undergoing psychotherapy watching this video 😅❤😂🎉lol. kudos. But I still feel that most psychs and shrinks have got it all upside down. INFPs need to become ESTJs in life...meaning develop Extroverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging Skills. More mature INFPs have already done that through years of life experiences or by finding their true calling, a solid reason for Judging more, Thinking more, Sensing more and Speaking up more when necessary.

I think that INxPs in general are very good at seeing the collective results of humanity’s actions and provide warnings in that regard. However, because of Se trickster, both INTPs and INFPs are not nearly as good at naturally being aware of the results of their actions on other people. Especially when we have failure to launch/getting stuck in a rut syndrome with our Si child.

@beatofmyown5 ай бұрын
I would say that what differentiates the ENFP is their compulsive nature to explore, to satisfy their curiosity. They cannot help themselves from getting rid of that itch for more. The INFPs typically do not have this problem as they are an introverted type.

@@Lalucy139 There is a slight difference between impulse and compulsions. Compulsions are very “mind-led,” while impulses are “gut-led.” Imagine that ENFPs tend to have more intrusive thoughts that they almost feel COMPELLED to satiate, to explore. INFPs usually do not have this issue.

@@Bbb-kg5eo So the ISFP is more GROUNDED than the INFP. Very much like, “This is who I am. I’m not easily swayed by anybody.”Think someone like Prince or Princess Diana. But paradoxically, it is this exact “grounded-ness” that makes the ISFP less relatable, NOT down-to-earth. Almost too confident and aggressive at their worst, but divine at their best. On the other hand, the INFPs may be idealistic, but paradoxically, it is this exact idealism, their ability to hold many possibilities and perspectives at the same time, that actually makes them MORE “down-to-earth.” More connected to others. I've seen that idea about INFPs not likely being religious before. I don't know where that comes from, it seems pretty 50/50 to me. INFPs seem very open to ideas of faith and belief, but it has to be something that makes ethical sense -- and not many people will say this -- it has to have a certain logic behind it. Some people think INFPs don't do logic but it's really not the case. [edit: Viewpoint from an INTJ]
