I am a big eater as well and I was surprised how filling the 3 evening courses were. You can have cereal, toast, croissants and a really nice granola yoghurt compote with your cooked breakfast, so that did fill me to be fair. When I say I don't care for something on the plate, I also expect that they will offer a substitute. The place looks absolutely gorgeous! So many similarities. We'll be in the lakes next week celebrating our 30th anniversary and we never got a honeymoon either as I was made redundant a few weeks before. We always walk around that hotel and wonder what it would be like, now we know so brilliant work Mr and Mrs Metalman. Just seeing my favourite fell (Place Fell) from the window every day would be magnificent. Finally, light shining under the doorway, I have to roll a towel up to keep the light out, it drives me mad! Well first things first, Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs METALMAN 🎂 40 Years! I’m on my forty second. Have been to Glenridding so many times but I’ve never been inside that hotel. It looks totally amazing. You say that for dinner it’s a dress code of no t shirts or jeans, what about the men? Did you see any salt and pepper on other tables? Like you I would have wanted ketchup with the steak and chips. I agree about the breakfast that if you don’t have an item it would be nice to have another sausage or bacon. Great review Alan and congrats to you both on 40 years. You had some sharp gear on!! I was expecting you to have a swim but the staff might not have approved. We like a good cooked breakfast too but that afternoon tea was a bit special. Looked like it was very safe in terms of c ovid-19 so that gave piece of mind. I love this Alan. Me and the wife did get a honeymoon 27 yrs back but it was in my touring caravan in North Wales. I'm not complaining, it was ace. 4 kids later, most of whom have now grown up but we can't seem to get them married off so breaks like this are a few years ahead I reckon. Hopefully we'll get to do this though. Genuinely, this is a great video. I'll catch up on your other another night as I'm just back from a trip with my lads and I'm dog knackered and have work at 6am.

Hello alan,love this video,mrs metalman is so lucky,think ive been with my hubby since 1978,not married still,closest i have come is a offer of elvis in las vegas. But your right about hard work,when we met we had nothing,no help from nobody,had bed on floor then built on it from there. nowdays its a throw away relationships ,every 3 years get new partner,people like us are rare. We are both lucky to have a soulmate to wake up to every day,i loved the hotel,and the wind with the breakfast made me laugh,i hope you both enjoy your retirement,you deserve it. I am next year going get anouther motorhome and explore,hubby wont let me get one this year,his like you spent 1k on camping gear,your going use it lol.as always you both please stay safe ...debs ps wonder if you can kayak in that lovely lake?..

Funny, it was 1978 when we first got together and then married in 1981. You can defo kayak on Ullswater, seen a lot do it and you can rent one from there too. A motorhome sounds nice and something I have always fancied myself, just taking off and stopping wherever I fancy. What you had looked very nice appart from that mimimum breakfast , my two would also have wanted some tomato sauce ; ) The views looked stunning. My two just celebrated their silver wedding while we were in Scotland , they went to all the places they did on their first honeymoon and had a great time ; ) Only this time they were in self catering rather than B&B . I would need about 4x more than they offered tho, but we get its quality over quantity. Sorry you had to ask for the table to be cleared and the condiments were lacking, those little touches make all the difference, should be bang on. Aif I delved into our old photos I could find our fist ever LD picture on that peir, back in 2015 as Kat broadened my exploration horizon. We had it hard too, no honeymoon, no real holidays to speak of until our late 40's.
