I began to have chest pains, and after a few scary moments, I called for an emergency ambulance to take me to the hospital, which is less than 5 minutes from my house. The doctors claimed the vodka saved my life,....as it thinned my blood enough, to buy me time. 2 days later I had double bi-pass, open heart surgery. After I fully recovered, a couple months later,....I had a new lease on life. Way better than a lottery win. I was 50 at the time and Now I am 70.

But that is easily done where that "golden billion" of people are living, North America, Most of Europe, Australia, and a few countries in far East Asia. The majority of states will reveal winner's identity... names, home town, etc. It's crazy and exposes winners to real danger. However, I'm pretty sure no one can force a winner to show their face on TV. People get so caught up in the excitement and with lottery officials pressuring them to get their giant check with their name on it on TV, they give in. Don't do it. Also, get financial and legal advisors BEFORE turning in the ticket and best, before signing the ticket. You may be able to remain anonymous or at least set up a trust or LLC that hides your name. Once you sign the ticket, you're cooked meat as only the name on a ticket can claim it. So, get your advice first. Put the ticket in a safe or in a bank deposit lock box for safe keeping and don't tell people you've won.

It’s so sad she had to go through all this. I believe that winners shouldn’t have to show their face and give their full names, and in some states you don’t have to. It’s also sad that so many people were scammers, some of her family and friends turned on her, and some people fell for the scams and lost money. Thankfully her local police were supportive of her. I wish she had gotten her own security detail, but I guess that would’ve brought on more attention. Thankfully she moved and she still have some family and friends on her side. God bless her.

In my country, people who are getting money, even if it is a much smaller sum than that, never tell their names, and the Lottery is obliged to keep them anonymous. Sure, some foolish people want to brag, but that will come to bite them in a form of all sorts of slightly immoral people who will do everything to grab some money out of those people.

If you win the lottery, keep your mouth shut and do not accept your prize publicly. Don't tell anyone for a while and until you have all of your legal and financial planning worked out. Put your signed ticket in a safety deposit box. After a while, hire a tax attorney, an investment advisor and a CPA. Then, go quietly on your way. Don't do anything extravagant. Simply be cool, sane and quiet and it might work out.
@hatchling88 Жыл бұрын
I agree. However, get legal advice before signing the ticket as it might be possible to set up a trust or LLC to claim the money and you'd want to have the trust be the winner. One lady in Florida this past year won a lot of money and followed the lottery's advice to sign the ticket but later realized she'd be publicized and didn't want that. She wanted a trust she was setting up to receive the money in its name to preserve her anonymity. Lottery officials wouldn't allow the trust to receive the money since she'd signed her ticket. 😩

First rule: keep quiet. Then contact a good knowledgeable tax attorney. Remain quiet. If yours is a windfall of 💰 do good with it. Help those without food and shelter, anonymously. Keep quiet.

The fact that the United States Lottery commission doesn't let the winner remain anonymous in collecting the prize, collects almost half of it, and distributes it for themselves or god knows what is enough to raise suspicion as to how the whole lottery system is, and what they play their own lottery of statistics as to what the winner's life will become exposed to the public. It's a SICK strategy that that've implemented with everything they create. "They give NOTHING, without getting something.".
