Actually, Steiner won the Royal Rumble '03 HHH match by DQ. The story of the match was also pretty much that HHH had no chance of beating him, which lead to HHH trying to get disqualified and counted out, succeeding when he hit the ref with a sledgehammer. The post-match brawl then saw HHH passing out due to the Steiner Recliner while bleeding until Eric Bischoff ran out to beg Scott to release the hold. The 2nd match was as awful as the first one but HHH did need help from Batista, Orton and Flair to win so it was hardly like Scott was buried.
@mistermann3225
@mistermann3225 3 жыл бұрын
The burial was subliminal. They made those matches overly long; knowing Scott was hurt and had bad cardio (because of his injury). That made him look bad as a performer.

@@BigDaddyJinx maybe but Steiner is someone with a actual fighting background Listen I'm not trying to disrespect anyone and I know all wrestlers are extremely tough and athletic individuals but most people including athletes don't really know how to fight I used to be involved in boxing and you'd be surprised how many tough guys off the street I've seen dropped by someone half their size the biggest thing that separates a great fight from someone who doesn't know what their doing is defense watch how they defend the head and kidneys look at how MMA fighters lock up joints ... Most of even the best wrestlers don't do these things that's why I really liked guys like Ken Shamrock Kurt Angle and Steiner ... You could see that they really knew what they were doing because of their resting poses and natural reflexes Lesner and Corbin are like that too Macho is one of my absolute favorites ever but I wouldn't bet on him in a real fight and I've never seen Hogan as a real fighter I have to respect his size and strength because it could create a situation where a lucky shot could drop a inexperienced individual

Goldberg wasn't in his 2nd run, Booker T was pretty decent, Chris Jericho was amazing, Hulk Hogan was always going to be pushed after his return, nWo weren't good in WWE, Sting was bad, Ric Flair was amazing in WWE- Evolution, basically it's half and half for WCW stars succeeding.
@Thor-Orion
@Thor-Orion 3 жыл бұрын
An Interesting Thought Booker was misused for his talent level, Jericho came over while the companies were still competing heavily and didn’t get pushed until wcw went under and he had proved his loyalty, HHH loved Flair and got him good bookings he didn’t deserve at that stage of his career. Now look at Sting, DDP, Bagwell, Palumbo, OHaire, etc. It’s really not half and half. There are a very select few exceptions but most were booked like lower mid-carders or jobbers.
@indymudshow
@indymudshow 3 жыл бұрын
@@ryan-yh9fn hardly half and half. Outside of Goldbergs recent runs, every other wcw was treated as a joke. They turned Shane helms into a idiot super hero. Plumbo was put in a gay storyline. Buff was shown the door. Literally. Booker had a decent run but he wasn't treated as a top guy. Ddp was a stalker and turned into a joke. Kanyon? Kidman? I could list 20 more guys that were treated like shit. The ONLY wrestlers to have consistent good screen time were wcws most popular females. Torri and handcock. Bc vince loves parading women around. It's sad when miss handcock had a better we run than STING.

It was probably the single most impactful heel turn that NWO pulled off. Because people loved the Steiners together and they represented old school physical and athletic wrestling. It made Scott into a main eventer with the development of the Big Poppa Pump character though, and as Rick was older and knew that he had missed his chance to ever be a singles main eventer because of Ric Flair (that story is definitely true, have heard it from many sources) he wanted to see Scott get a solo run before his time ran out. That heel turn on his brother set Scott up for success. I too love the Steiners.

You know they say all men are created equal. But you look at me and you look at Samoa Joe and you can see that statement is not true! See, normally if you go one on one with another wrestler, you got a 50-50 chance of winning! But I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal! So you got a 25 percent - at best - at beat me! And then you add Kurt Angle to the mix, the chances of winning drastic go down! You see, the three way at Sacrifice you got a 33 and 1/3 chance of winning! But I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning cause Kurt Angle knows he can't beat me and he's not even gonna try! So Samoa Joe, you take your 33 and 1/3 chance, minus my 25 percent chance and you got an 8 and 1/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice! But then you take my 75 percent chance of winning if it goes one on one and then add the 66 and 2/3 percents, I got a 141 and 2/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice! Senior Joe, the numbers don't lie and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice!

Bischoff 83 Weeks gives some great news perspectives. Eezy E says Macho and Hulk were like competitive brothers, they hated each other, knew each other in and out, screwed each other, helped each other, Hulk and Linda did shelter Liz when she was leaving Randy buy when it came to making money and stories they always came back together. Total 'pieces of work', as they back home.

I have a not-so-insane-truth about Scott Steiner that I often relay to my wrestling friends. I was working in a tanning salon to make a little extra money in grad school in the waning days of WCW when Jeff Jarrett walked in to get bronzed before a house show. He was quite friendly and I let him tan for free, so he comped me two tickets and told me he’d send a few other guys over. The only ones to come in were Big Poppa Pump and Midajah. Unlike J-E-double F, he barely spoke two words to me and was a bit of a jerk, even when I told him the Frankensteiner was one of my favorite finishers like a dirty mark.

Synthol wasn’t around back then, and if he had used synthol you couldn’t get the look he has from synthol it would be blown out of proportion everywhere, no idea what your talking about

Scott Steiner was totally shot when he returned to WWE. Triple H did him no favours, but smoke and mirrors would have only got him so far. Having their Royal Rumble match back-to-back with one of THE great matches in Angle-Benoit didn't help either.

Am I crazy or was there an article about Steiner blowing out one of his muscles while flexing in the ring? Or was that a parody given his size gain at the time?
