These are all geared mostly towards tourism which is probably what San Diego does best, but in order to not go the way of Horton Plaza, the city needs to address the homeless in downtown. I believe some have been relocated to the hotels in Mission Valley which may be a reason your client left the hotel. I too, love the quaintness of Seaport Village as it exists today, which is where my icon picture to the left was taken.

Looks good, but these projects won’t be built for decades. We have too many radical environmentalists here and their frivolous lawsuits will delay or amend these developments well into the future. I’ll probably be dead before one shovel is put in the ground.

Some of these projects are already underway. But I agree, especially with the redevelopment of Seaport Village

San Diego let the chargers leave, and now they want to build a sports arena?

These are all great, and I'm so pleased and excited to see my home transform into a truly modern, global city but the almost 10,000 homeless in the city and the absolute lack of affordable housing options anywhere where it's really needed will only serve to be more flashy areas for the city of homeless to camp out. Also, so many of these new residential units are at or above market rate, which isn't affordable, and the amount of affordable housing offered if at all is sparse. Hopefully the investment into and eventual construction and usage of these new developments will help encourage the building of more housing in more affordability options in proximity since they'll be more desirable areas in general. Great video! 😁🙏🏻

They all look exciting .I' not sure about the Seaport village renovation ,as I find the current one quaint and cute. The new complex looks so futuristic.

Building things like this only shows how much the developers are paying politicans to build what they "envision" Until you clean up the vagrants oops I mean unhoused tent people, you will only have a bust on those projects. Look at all of the buildings in Downtown San Diego, because of the thousands of "Unhoused" people, the people living in their apartments are being assaulted by the homeless vagrants and finding them "unhoused" people in front of your business leaving dirt and poo there should be the issue to solve before ever building more buildings that aren't affordable. I guess no more greenery or parks And I see this is where my 3-5 grand per semester I pay at SDSU is going to. What a rip off.

There are plenty of parks and green spaces included in all these projects. And yes I think every San Diegan will agree homelessness is an issue that needs to be solved.

@@DanPBestLifeSD 🙄🙄You seem to be happy of the comment made by CallMeByYourName. And I bet you don't mind more traffic even with the EV mandatory selling of those cars. Water consumption even with the 1.5 GPM allow to be used. And living on top of everyone makes it like New York City. I was born and raised there and hated it since I was little.

Remodel Balboa park, it is outdated. Build high-rise skyscrapers(over 70 stories) in downtown, the skyline looks so boring. Get rid of Miramar base. Landscape Fiesta island to park and resort.
@Nightscream452
@Nightscream452 2 жыл бұрын
They can't Remodel Balboa Park....its a historical Landmark. We can't just get rid of Miramar Air base...we literally don't own the land, its Federal Property. I agree that Fiesta Island needs to be landscaped into Park with better facilities .

Also cannot build over 500 feet in downtown. Federal aviation authority has oversight on height restrictions and DTSD is capped at 500 feet due to the proximity of the airport.

Thanks for this video! Never really thought about some of these areas you mentioned but now that you mentioned it, some of these areas could really use an upgrade. Really excited about the plans for Chula Vista, Mission Valley, and that Point Loma arena. I never really drove down to Chula Vista for anything other than meeting friends who lived down there and only went to that Point Loma area once for an EDM concert and to eat at that Mod's Pizza across the street next to the Target so these plans definitely gives me more reason to check the areas out more often!

Here is my opinion on the Chula Vista project: I don't understand WHY they are building something on the other side of the trolley line. The best way to make it feel like a contiguous downtown-ish area would be to build a park over parts of the 5. Also they need to convert the Chula Vista Center mall into a satellite medical campus for UCSD (its right next to a hospital). What do you think?

Another huge Mission Valley project is Civita, probably about half finished by early 2023. And that sits opposite Rio Vista across Friars Road inbetween SDSU Campus West and Riverwalk.

Not having so many sports teams is good. People can focus on their real lives, instead of living vicariously through a sports team that could care less about them. It's always blown my mind how much working class people live through their teams, spending so much money, investing their emotions.

exactly, it's not you winning or playing-it's a bunch of overpaid players that don't even care about you. But if you're the government, all the better-gives people something to keep them occupied and sedated--"Give them bread and circuses and they will never revolt"

Well that's an interesting point, but they are trying to make that bayfront land more valuable. That's one thing Chula Vista is really missing is a nice coast to visit and walk around.

As someone who wants a pro team in SD, the seating capacity won’t cut it to draw a team. This is small for soccer, hockey, and basketball.
