I remember when Disneyland could barely sell AP's. Heavily discounted them. Damn near couldn't give them away. Greenberg was set to buy it all and break it all up. Everything, studio, parks all of it for lot value. I'm glad it's this popular and they are rolling money back into the parks. We waited 3 months to ride Radiator Springs Racers.

I went Sunday Jan 19, and we had a scare ! We used my friends phone who had the best service and secured a spot ! Group 78 - - but then right before he pushed join I exclaimed “ WAIT MY PASS ISNT BEING DISPLAYED “ he clicked it right away and my heart sank ! I remember asking him “ dude ! I thought you had my pass ??” Too which. He had Thought too , I felt heartbroken as my two friends got a pass and I didn’t , all on account he forgot to double check - - we went to guest relations and they fixed it for us since we had proof we had a group , but what a damn scare !! Deff a story to tell lol , the ride was worth it , even though we didn’t get on till after 10:30

There are reasons for this system that aren't readily apparent to the average guest. The ride is prone to breakdowns, and the virtual queue is a hedge against this. If there are 4 hours worth of people in the queue, it would be an epic disaster if the ride were to go down for an hour or more. This is an anti-Hagrids measure.

@@FreshBakedDisney I hear ya. But....we waited 3.5hrs in pandora at Animal Kingdom with the knowledge that could be happen and everyone that stood in that line was happy to do so. For people that only gets to go once every so many years this sort of thing sucks. That might just be my opinion. This sort of thing makes me want to wait to go to the parks again, not to go now with the chance of getting to ride.

I was there Saturday and it was nerve wracking. I got in line at 6:45am and in the park by 7:15am. Both mine and my friend's apps crashed, but luckily we got boarding group 84. I feel like Saturday was very smooth running for the ride because we were able to ride by 4:45pm and they went up to group 117 that day. It was so worth waiting for. Fingers crossed for luck this Saturday when my family comes to visit. I see me at minute 8:40 lol

Was there both days as well and day 2 was definitely more crazy then day 1. Day 1 we walked in at 730am and got boarding group 36. Day 2 we did magic morning then did the same thing as day 1 to get a group and ended up with boarding pass 105. We managed to get into the que night 2 but the ride broke down completely for the night and didn't get to ride a second time!

I was there that Saturday morning. It was surreal seeing everyone standing on main street just looking at their phones and waiting for 8am. I saw you guys in line for Star Tours, passed right by you. I tried for a boarding pass as well but the app crashed and no luck was had.

I was there Saturday and Sunday trying to get a boarding group. Saturday I was unable to get a boarding group. My app did crash a little and MaxPass was down until about 10am. Sunday I got a boarding pass, group 30. It was well worth the wait. Ride was amazing.

We got in line at 5:30 am on Saturday and we entered the park at 6:30. Once we entered the park we sat at a table, drank coffee and waited for 8:00 to roll around and were able to secure a spot in group 69. Everything went really smooth for us. As for the ride itself, you won’t be disappointed.

I am taking my daughter for her birthday next week (4 days - 3 of which i will be there in the morning) and it will help me set expectations on the likely hood of getting a boarding pass. I watched your other video on tips to get a pass - specifically the tip about not hitting the "find out more" button until 8am exactly. I get some people don't agree with this opinion but this process has me scratching my head. It's a giant lottery which is fine but if that's the way they want to do it then Disney should at least hand out the tickets themselves rather than letting cell phone providers pick the winners. I'd be all for this process if the boarding passes lasted at least 20 min so everyone has a fair shot. I hope they rethink this and come up with a better way.

The park was pretty slow today. The crowds are being scared away again and there's no blackouts. Not really expected when a new ride opens regardless of day. People saw the madness on KZbin and saw that boarding pass process isn't a guarantee. Most people have a brain and they use it.

Its actually way better because no one seems to care about the rest of the park. Ya its crowded in the morning but all the other rides are dead. Peter pan never got more than 40 mins and cars was only 60 at its peak. I went friday Saturday and Sunday. It seemed like people were just leaving after they went on rise of the resistance

So just curious here.... Say you went to DCA instead of Disneyland - would it let you join the virtual line? I know with fast passes as long as you are scanned in somewhere you can get passes. I've done this many times during busy Saturdays and just scanning in at the monorail and then grabbing passes while continuing walking to Disneyland to get in. I kinda want to try either scanning in at DCA or at the monorail and seeing if it will give me a spot?

My understanding is you have to be scanned in at Disneyland. It won’t work from DCA. I haven’t heard either way about monorail entrance. It is technically entrance to Disneyland so ,,, maybe?
