I loved the launch bay back when it first opened during the season of the force along with hyperspace mountain. My dad and I would always go to look at the Galaxy’s edge model along with the photo ops. The hype was so real as the sequel trilogy was about to start and get into full motion. Now, there isn’t much life in the launch bay anymore. It hasn’t even been updated for Rise of Skywalker. Galaxy’s edge is the Star Wars go to place now in Disneyland so hopefully they include more characters or other additions to that land in the future

It seriously bothers me how much Star Wars is actually in Disneyland. I don’t hate Galaxy’s Edge I just don’t think it belongs in the Disneyland Park. To me it makes more sense in Hollywood Studios. But since they now have it in Disneyland they SHOULD NOT have Star Wars stuff in other parts of the park other than in Galaxy’s Edge. I can accept the emporium on Main Street as a secondary location for SOME Star Wars merch but Disney needs to reduce the amount of star wars in the park
@gearhead2be4 жыл бұрын
I haven't been back to Disneyland for about 15 years. I hope to remedy that soon. I had to figure out where the Launch Bay was. I correctly guessed it was the old Carousel of Progress. I miss that show, but this seems like an ideal use for the show building, in keeping with a Tomorrowland theme. The Carousel of Progress was an amazing show, but was too easily eclipsed by the progression of actual time.

I think all eras should be mixed in the Star Wars Land. Keep the characters from different eras in different sections, or (unpopular opinion) have no meet and greets. You can still have Chewy and troopers running around. Harry Potter land doesn't adhere to an exact time, and it's still immersive a.f. and the whole area works.
@bluegold10264 жыл бұрын
Yeah I do agree all eras should be in different areas of Galaxy’s Edge. Makes the most sense IMO. Keep the meets.

I think in Galaxy's Edge, if you can have Kylo Ren walking around, you can have any character! So I reckon, bring on Vader, Mando, even the Emperor, or whoever... If you're gonna have one character who is **spoiler alert** dead, then the rest can be there too, that's my thoughts.
@DeadmanInc3364 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't make sense. Galaxy's Edge focuses on the sequel trilogies and it's been confirmed that it takes place shortly after The Last Jedi in the canon. If they're gonna have characters from the original trilogy, they're going to be at Tommorow Land.
@Susan4Travel4 жыл бұрын
@@DeadmanInc336 I don't agree they should just pluck out a time period and say it's then. I think we'd see a lot more characters and it would draw more people and more excitement to have the most beloved ones there.
@DeadmanInc3364 жыл бұрын
@@Susan4Travel well that's what it is. It's official to the Star Wars canon. Nothing you guys can do about it. Keep the past where it belongs. Appropriately in Tommorow Land.

@@Susan4Travel Palpatine wouldn't make sense since he's, ya know, a living corpse in hiding hooked up to a life support machine. It would totally ruin the canon of Galaxy's Edge.

Okay I think I have a solution to the problem when it comes to meeting characters who aren't in the Galaxy's Edge timeline and here it goes. I think they should construct a cave like the one Luke goes in while training and sees Vader in Empire Strikes Back. That way you can place any character you wish in that cave meet and greet area and explain it away by saying you are using the force and seeing who you need to see or whatever nonsense to sell the idea. I think it's a simple solution that will make it easy to house any new or old Star Wars character you wish.

Hey Dave! Hope you don't mind some input! Your videos are always great, and I know you're not used to that camera yet, but... I'm not sure that camera is the best for moving shots, i.e. walking. Either there is no stabilizer, or you haven't engaged it? Those shots are always very bumpy, and (for me at least) is very hard to watch when you're walking. Makes me a bit queasy. lol But I love seeing the Tomorrowland vids, because I'm a CM there in the shops! 😁👍

I'm sure I'd know a lot more of the back stories and between stories if I had watched more.....(Sheepish grin)....nor have I seen a single moment of The Mandelorian. I am also one for continuity and canon.........I know Vader is dead because I saw him die and then be joined with the force at the end of Ep. 6.......which is why I also have issue with the Star Trek reboots........they are quite non-canon with just enough referential continuity to draw you in...in a universe that is usually very canon for how deep and complex it is.

The continuity and Disney rules with characters have already been dispersed I feel with galaxies edge. They said timeline was between TLJ and RISE yet Kylo has his mask. Also breaking Disney’s live action character rule with having Rey as a face character yet no others are in the parks. The characters exactly what makes Star Wars so have them all around at scheduled different times but shouldn’t be withheld as currently to many doesn’t feel like Star Wars at all with out characters around. Even if all generic and no HERO/VILLAINS around.

So dumb that characters like Boba Fett and Vader aren’t welcome in Galaxy’s Edge regardless of the story they are attempting to tell there.
@Zacharysharkhazard4 жыл бұрын
Galaxy’s Edge takes place in between 8-9, a time period where boba fett and Vader aren’t alive so I’m glad they’re keeping it consistent, it’d be really weird to see them walking around with Kylo Ren or something.
@danielmcfeely91514 жыл бұрын
its zack - I’m well aware what they are attempting to do in Galaxy’s Edge story wise, see my post. I still thinks it’s dumb and am not a fan. Makes no sense to make a land celebrating Star Wars where the overwhelming majority of characters aren’t welcome. Especially, when the time frame set for Galaxy’s Edge is arguably the least popular with the fans. Just my opinion. It is what it is.
@welcometothejungl34 жыл бұрын
But where do you draw the line, Daniel? Include characters from all eras? That would make no sense
@danielmcfeely91514 жыл бұрын
WelcomeToTheJungl3 - Personally, the line for me is if it’s Star Wars, then it can be there. Plain and simple. I get that Galaxy’s Edge is suppose to be the Disney answer to Harry Potter World. The problem with that is the land and time frame they chose and built is not iconic Star Wars and likely never will be. The majority of people don’t care about Rey, Poe, and Finn...Some people do and I accept and applaud that, but they will never be on par with Luke, Leia, Han, Obi-wan, Yoda, Vader, Palpatine, and so many more. Not only that, but there are even Sequel trilogy characters not allowed in the land like Snoke and Phasma. How narrow minded. There are 100s of fun and exciting Star Wars characters that people would enjoy meeting. I guarantee in the next decade or so once a new Tomorrowland is built and Star Wars is kicked out of that land permanently, which is a likely outcome, that these characters will make their way to Galaxy’s Edge. where do you celebrate those legacy characters? Secondly, no other land makes sense, as they are all hodge podges of different stories, characters, and attractions (except for Pandora). Yeah, I understand that Galaxy’s Edge is suppose to be different. Ok, fine. You currently have Star Wars in Tomorrowland. Ok. Long term, I don’t see that being the case, The new sequel films made good money, but ultimately within the Star Wars fan base a big percentage, I won’t say majority, saw the Sequel trilogy as a colossal failure. Disney and their parks in part celebrate timeless beloved characters. For the most part the characters introduced in the sequel trilogy, Kylo Ren and BB-8 aside, are forgettable and not at this point timeless. That could change in time. Again, just my opinion. I have no say in the matter. I found Galaxy’s Edge to be quite beautiful and themed amazingly well and the new attractions thrilling, but I also find it lacking in character and Immersion. We were told their would be aliens and droids and Bounty hunters meandering around and interacting with the guests. None of that is there...but we did get the $200 lightsaber build workshop, which in time after the diehards have their sabers will be a huge flop and will eventually close. Non Star Wars fans aren’t going to pay $200 for a saber and very few will buy more than a couple of them. In short, you want a fun immersive Star Wars land? You have the basics now knock it out of the park and add the characters most people care the most about and want to interact with.
