@freedomishavingachoice30203 жыл бұрын
Nope. Parents have the right to document their kids growing up. We can't take that away. I don't agree with openly putting them online, but they are not my children and I do not get that choice. blaming the parents for using the internet with their children feels like the equivalent of telling young women if they dress a certain way in an ally they are asking for it. However, I well say this is why social media needs to be sued for not moderating their platforms. If Nick can figure it out, but the owners of the platform can't, I'm going to have to call BS on the platform not knowing it's happening. They just didn't look. Section 230 keeps them from being sued like any other business. Highly recommend looking into how it protect criminals that use the internet. It would be more productive than banking on parents not using social media to document kids. It would create rules that wouldn't allow it. Think about it: The platforms would make their own rules about not showing children to protect liability. Then parents would have no option but to go back to old school texting Gma little Timmys graduation instead of posting it where bad people look at it. Change the law and protect the kiddos pls.

I'm a brazilian lawyer, and here Howard supposedly would be breaking the law - because, according to our law, child por* is all about context and intentions. So, for instance, if a mother has pictures of a child taking a shower for sentimental value, it's not a crime, but a picture of a child fully clothed, when used for malicious motives, can be considered child por*. The major problem is that it's usually hard to prove what is inside someone's mind, although this case appears pretty much straight forward with all this evidence

This tactic is called "fetish mining", where you are asked to perform an action that seems non-sxual but which the asker enjoys as a fetish. There was a scandal earlier in the year in the UK, when a major UK charity was found to be taking donations of money from a man doing "sponsored challenges" that were essentially this exact scenario except he'd film in person and it was mostly young adults, but it also included kids. He'd been promoted by the charity on their social media and received certificates of thanks which made him seem legit, but if you go through his pages he follows almost exclusively fetish accounts for the activity he was getting kids to perform while he filmed it. When he asked adults he would be aggressive and abusive if turned down, and one of them finally got wise to his motives.

Hi Nick, a quick heads up. I just saw this video, two years late. From a former police officer: Excellent work! As of today, 14/06/24, Newton is still active on the internet forum Quora, and still pursuing questions concerning clothed children in water, and, disturbingly, drowning. I have contacted the West Yorks police Sexual Offenders unit, and a journalist at The Guardian newspaper here in the UK who has an interest in the current state of online protections for children to advise of his continuing interest, and to point both those parties at your video. It is possible someone may contact you.
@Olivaro105 ай бұрын
That's awesome, fingers crossed something will be done about this! The newly added drowning aspect is very concerning indeed. Those kind of paraphilias can be harmless if done in private and/or with consenting adults but unfortantely many escalate. Howard took it from taking the baths himself and watching adults in wet clothes and escalated to kids online and then tried to escalate it to organizing a live event. Apparently he has now added a violent component to it and given how extreme his compulsion seems to be he could potentially become dangerous.

There's an aspect of this man's fetish you didn't specifically make a note of. He's always daring kids to ask their parents for permission or have the parents make the kids do it. If he _only_ wanted to see the kids in the bath, it would be much easier to get that footage by telling them to do it without being noticed. Even the parents saying no seems to get him going, he wants to hear how it happens and is imagining the interaction. He seemingly enjoys the forbidden and weird nature of the act, making the child disobey and having the parents watching, either disapproving or enjoying. The parents' reaction is very much related, maybe that's tied to some deep psychological issues, possible childhood experiences? He's not even trying to go unnoticed by adults, he wants them involved while they're unaware of his _enjoyment._ I'm sure his biggest fantasy would be parents who share his... inclination. Ugh.

@@Junomaster2006 - Normally I'd say you're a partisan hack, but Biden is actually a really interesting case in point if you want to compare him to this guy, because their respective "perversions" if you want to call it that, are somewhat similar. Biden is one of those guys who has a real problem with personal physical boundaries: he's very touchy feely, and in all those videos you see of him disregarding people's personal space, he does it to women differently than he does it to men. That's pseudo-sexual. It's not overtly sexual, but it's showing a double standard over gender, based around sexuality. The same can be observed with fathers who freak out at the thought of their daughters having sex before marriage, but might not freak out so much if it concerned their sons. That's pseudo-sexual. The guy showcased in this video is very much engaged in a pseudo-sexual fetish. He targets boys to help him act out his obsession, but that ABSOLUTELY doesn't mean it's sexual. It could be something as simple as the fact that he relates to being a young boy experiencing this himself for the first time. It might be similar to how fathers have a different relationship to their sons than they do their daughters. That's pseudo-sexual too. NOTHING this guy does is overtly sexual, and no one he engages with is compromised sexually. That's why I don't think he's guilty of a crime. I think he needs to stop, but in the form of therapy, not punishment, because he's not actually harming anyone,. Likewise, almost 25% of Americans are able to give Biden a free pass for the same reason: because as far as we know, he didn't actually do anything other than express pseudo-sexual behavior. P.S. Who you voted for doesn't matter. If you didn't vote for Biden, that means if you voted, you voted for the "grab them by the pu$$y" guy. At this point, it's hilarious to me how EITHER side of the political aisle in America think they hold some sort of moral high ground.

What if your parents uploaded a embarrassing video of you when you were a kid (that you consented), and then you grow up mature enough to see that video, a childhood moment that should have been intimate and cute has become the circus for who knows who. Everyone having an opinion on your own childhood! WTF that's sad! Just because you consented with like 6 years old?? It took me until my early twenties to even begin realizing what was really happening in real life and the internet, let alone the gravity of so many victims going unnoticed by even themselves.

There are fetishies for the most unthinkable things. Some are not malicious tough. Like the one below. I saw a documentary of a woman that was in love with Eiffel Tower. She also "married" Eiffel Tower. Later on she got in love with Berlin Wall, and "married" the Wall. She also had small models of both the Wall and the Tower. At end of documentary she was sleeping in a DDR guard tower that was connected to Berlin Wall with her small models. Not malicious but extremley unthinkable for us "normal" people that such fetishies can exist.

This is a phenomena known as fetish-mining, and it was really common on websites like DeviantArt back in the day. For example young artists would get drawing requests for things that didnt seem sexual at first glance, and they would draw it because it seemed fun, without realizing that the person who requested it was using it for sexual gratification. It could be things like drawing someone in a tutu (I got this one on my art tumblr a few years back) or drawing someone eating a lot of food. Sadly it's something that is way too common online and its usually asked from minors, since minors generally dont see how it could be weird or sexual. A good rule of thumb is to teach yourself and your kids to not accept requests on things that seem just a bit too specific, or things you see a lot of people being asked to do. Also for artists a good rule is to just not accept requests unless they actually pay you money for it.
@dukesmaragdineassburgers8359 Жыл бұрын

The law can't do anything. Section 230 allows platforms to not moderate people using their platforms. Until a victim comes forward to press charges, nothing can happen, and they have to charge only the individual that uploaded, not the platform that didn't moderate. I put a man in an American federal prison for 30 years after he took my childhood. I had to have video evidence to get that long of a conviction. He used the internet as a tool to hunt. The platform never once shut down when I told them where they were uploading. I promise you I have had decades to think about this...nix section 230 and let ppl sue internet platforms like regular companies. Also, does anyone understand how hard it is to tell your story as a survivor to warn ppl online with the robots delete everything we have to say about it? Sheesshhh. This is exhausting.

3 reasons why Nick is such a great find on KZbin First he knows how to properly manage the ambience of a video. This may sound blatant but its a HUGE factor. These videos without the subtle / bass heavy ambient music would be a lot worse. He chooses the right tracks and mixes them properly so that you can use his videos to calm down to and really fall into the vibe and rabbit holes of darkness. It‘s a huge subtle factor. A lot of other youtubers who do similar “internet digging” just talk into the camera with no music and little to no screenshots or video footage. That really kills the vibe and enjoyability, at least to me. Second: Nick brings the topics forward in a chronological order, so it’s like a story you listen to as a viewer. The way he brought up leathersmoki for example was absolutely legendary. He made a story with meaning and depth out of that guys legacy. Third: this is more a personal thing but I am really glad that he never brings in ARGs. Real life darkness is much more intriguing and interesting. The main difference is, ARGs always push the scariness/eeriness onto the viewer. They want you to believe there is something “dark going on” while in real life events the actual context makes things dark. Like he often said “the last video of a person is always going to be tinted with a bitter taste” that goes for Oh In Hye’s last video and even Dylan Pountney’s (that guy’s last vid was literally just smoking in the car. By itself harmless/irrelevant - but within the backstory very eerie). Btw. The first 2 reasons are why a lot of people watch summoning salt. A lot of his audience doesn’t even care about speedruns etc but just the way he writes stories with ambience out of the topics makes him very watchable. Same goes for nick. Also he never fails to stand up for the weak and defenceless - may it be children or animals, which he has my big respect for!

Hey Nick and anyone else who is watching. I know you probably won’t see this but I feel like it is important. There is this KZbin channel with about a thousand subscribers but it has around a million total views I believe. It’s called Pierre Domec and it’s based around a bunch of actors dressing up as cowboys and indigenous peoples (often portraying the cowboys and us marshals as heroes and the indigenous people as villains). But that’s not even the worst part. All of these actors appear to be young girls and they are often put in situations where they are tied up or other situations. This wouldn’t be so bad if the kids themselves were running it but judging by the name and the profile picture it appears that it is all run by an older man in his 50s - 60s. I’m not sure something just doesn’t sit well with me here Edit: He seems to respond to every comment that you leave on his videos no matter how old they are so I left one trying to find out how old these actresses are and also subscribed to keep the illusion up

Unfortunately, the parents may not know, I for one was active on the internet at like 12 years old maybe and now it's even younger that kids are engaging in social media all without telling their parents. Probably the biggest issue is that kids don't feel like they can talk to their parents about social media especially if their parents have told them no about things before. Obviously this can all be prevented by not giving kids access to the internet, but it is a big part of growing up now and socialization so the kid may lose some of that. Of course, not getting groomed is better than not sharing similarities with everyone in your age range.

All of you totally had Facebook or some other shit when you were 11 years old, stop acting as if this is some new thing that started recently. i can’t even handle the rest of this video. i love nick’s commentary, investigative nature, and the service he’s done everyone by exposing the monsters on his channel. BUT YALL. this just hit so close to home, i just dug up some memories i closed off forever a long time ago. to think so many kids are getting groomed and taken advantage of and they don’t even know is just so sad. i know some of these devils don’t stop with just asking them. they get a chance to talk to some of the kids who message back. and before the child knows it they’re doing exactly what the predator wants. the effects of being groomed so young and being taken advantage of fuck you up as you get older. realizing how wrong it was for a person who is your age now to talk to a 14 year old you. you go through a period of self doubt and blame, and it cycles like that forever. how do i cope? who can you even tell? cause just like how you never told anyone then, how could you tell anyone now? how does on even cope with those experiences? i stopped thinking of them before but i cant stop thinking of them now. you can’t, and truthfully you never did. trauma can sneak up on you. it turns into things that are familiar with you and can even be the thing you cope with. it hurts to acknowledge, because you have to feel that pain. you have to go through that cycle sometimes over and over and you don’t know when it’ll end. i’m only speaking from experience here and i don’t know anyone else’s experience with being groomed. but i know it happens way more often than we think, at least than i thought. i never thought anyone would understand the experience i went through because i never spoke up. if you’re reading this and you went through this and it’s eating you alive, you wanna escape it from following you, and you just wanna heal, find the source of those feelings. i know it’s hard but you have to confront it, acknowledged it happened and don’t blame that on you. as a child the only thing you should be concerned with is being taken care of. i’m so sorry this happened to you. you don’t need to exploit your trauma, you don’t need to tell anyone besides when you’re ready. but tell yourself about it. tell yourself that you are not to blame. that you weren’t “too naive” “you wanted it” or anything else. for me i felt like i had a voice in me that just needed to scream that stuff out. it’s like a weight being lifted off your back, or a veil over your eyes. it’s like healing your inner child. just protect yourself and be gentle. go through it with baby steps, move at your pace. you’re doing this for you now. even if it’s just a little bit at a time, count that. allow yourself and your inner self to just heal. it has to go through the bad before it gets good.and you’ll be glad you did it. i hope that one day however it comes, people that take innocence like that get what they deserve in return. these people terrorizing children like this are just sickening to even think about. i love and appreciate these videos Nick does because it shines a light inside at least one more pedo rathole.

I think a lot of people have dealt with this in some way or another. Honestly, the best way I've found to deal with such things is to tell someone about it. Honestly, what really makes me sick is the fact that parents are going to hear of some dumb challenge online concerning their children and suggested by a stranger, and they just hop right up and do it and film it and put it online. Love me make this sparkling clear for anyone who is confused whatsoever on this subject. If you are an adult, the only children you should be having any contact with whatsoever online are your nieces and nephews or something like that.
