Following the end of WWI, Europe was such a mess and destabilized due to many factors such as the fall of the German, Austro-Hungarian, Russian, Ottoman Empires leading to a redivision of the European map.
See the Interwar period in Europe from 1918 to 1939 through small local wars like the Greco-Turkish or the Polish-Soviet ones.

My biggest gripe with this video is the fact it has no music at some points. I know that might seem minor, but it kinda takes me outta it when it has music and it suddenly cuts out, or when its silent for 7 out of the 20 minutes, only to have chaotic music come up during the most peaceful part of the video.

@ttbrv5036
@ttbrv5036 5 жыл бұрын
SkeletalForce that is wrong, huge chunk of ethnic real Greeks have been assimilated by about 1400s. Greeks in coasts were of merchant and manufacturing occupation,granted special rights by ottoman government. There were also ethnic Greeks all over meditteranian coast of former Ottoman cities like in Lebanon Syria Israel Palestine Egypt. Those people moved away to these territories in 1600s 1700s. There are Ottoman documents about it I wish you could have speak Turkish language so I could prove it. And also, what about Greek ethnic cleanse in Western Anatolia before Greek genocide began? They tried to ethnicly cleanse just to make sure that League of Nations will justify occupation. So it is ok to kill Turks just because they came later? Then let's kill Australians since they came in 1800s. Do you see logic?

@leowilly29

Well you must take different things in count: first France wanted to break Germany, in every senses of the word: split the country in differents nations so germany could never be a threat again. But the british and american refused and prefered economic sanctions, this could have been far worse for germany. Secondly yes austria began the war, but the main enemy was Germany, Belgium and northern France were destroyed to a point where there are still entire regions dangeroos for human because of unexplosed shell, gas and mines. So the Versailles treaty was not harsh enough for France and Belgium. Germany still kept most of its lands while ottoman and austria empires were dismantled. In the end Germany comparing to what they did, get out very well of this war.
@Stoss_
@Stoss_ 5 жыл бұрын
WW1 wasn't started by Germany. The Entente was created far before than The Central Powers. It's easy to say "it was germany's fault" in a world where Entente has won and did many false propaganda against The Central Powers, but you will see the reality is far more different if you try to learn more about the background.

@@leowilly29 What do you mean Germany got out of the war well? The Treaty of Versailles was extremely harsh to Germany. All of her colonies were taken by UK/France/Japan and almost 8 million Germans were suddenly citizens of other countries. That's ethnic cleansing at its worst.

Looks like the years of 1926-1935 were generally peaceful for entirety of Europe. I could not find any wars between different nations or large civil conflicts (like Spanish Civil War) during these years.

What is a "German Austrian Republic" and why is it the same colour as the Weimar Republic? I thought after the war the allies banned Germany and Austria from ever uniting?

Before the Treaty of Versailles, it was a small Republic whose goal was to unite with Germany. The allies refused.

cg123ize because interwar is often seen as boring to some, considering a lot of the interesting stuff happens at the beginning of interwar, and almost nothing in the middle

WW1 and WW2 shouldn't be considered separate wars, the interwar are literally conflicts between countries around the whole world Fun fact: there was wars even in South America during the interwar
