It's great to see that we are finally starting to understand health as a whole instead of addressing problems as individual and separate compartments. The food we eat, the bacteria we host, the gut we build, the emotions we have... they are all part of a big circle that functions as a unit.

Yeah yeah sure buddy, .. tell that too all the people with auto-immune diseases whose lives only turn back to normal once they start medication. Of course there are many things you can do to lead a healthy live, but sometimes medication is *just* necessary. And it’s ok for those that do use meds, you’re not a failure for using it, there is nothing wrong with you. Do what feels right for *you* as an individual, instead of following the crowd. With or without medication. Both ways are *good* ! 😊

Being vegetarian will not help the intestine. The problem is in food quality. The industry has become obsesses with price optimization and no one is talking about food quality. In the past local food was of superior quality because it was harvested at the right time and people could actually buy it at a reasonable prices. The legislation and market has caused that these local farmers need to compete with large food production conglomerates, which caused many of local farmers to bankrupt. We live in sad times, and nothing will become better if we do not start fixing problems at the root cause and start to respect local and fresh produce and make legislation that favor smaller farmers instead of bigger ones!

Carina's situation is almost identical to my own. I've never seen or encountered another person who described their struggle with IBS so similarly to my own. Now in my late 30s, I'm finally getting a handle on it via medicine and mental healthcare, and it kills me all the opportunities I've missed. But this video makes me think I should revisit an gut-specialist since it seems we may have advanced since I was a kid. 25+ years ago when I was first diagnosed with IBS, it was treated like a disease where the doctors just shrug and tell you good luck. It took about 15 years before I was finally given effective anti-anxiety medicine, and it's been over 10 years since then.

I had an "irritable bowel" all my life even as a vegetarian. The doctor said I just needed more fibre but nothing helped. But going vegan cured it fully (took about 1-2 months of adjustment). I'm never going back to dairy. I'm white and from THE cheese country. I still shouldn't have dairy it turns out. Please try vegan or if you don't want to do that, just cut out ALL dairy (milk, cheese, butter, ghee, whey, etc: look online to learn which ingredients come from milk and read the whole ingredients list for everything you eat because milk derivatives are in many products even some crisps and other places you don't suspect).

“If you aren’t taken seriously, it really does something to you.” Yes, it absolutely does. For many of us, being discounted begins in childhood. When you develop with that being “normal,” you’ve been taught to discount yourself - shown that you’re not worthy of respectful treatment and consideration. It’s taken me a long time to heal from that and to understand how the psychology of it impacted my treatment of the body I call home.

The cure for diverticulitis is l-glutamine, not surgery, I know because I had it 4 years ago. It came back three times and I refused to have the surgery, then I found out about l-glutamine. You take it regularly. For about 10 to 14 days, then after that just periodically. I haven't had any😊 problem for more than 2 years now, and I have shared this with others that had it and they have been cured also, but I do have to say I don't eat any junk food, or at least very very little.

A body stuck in a survival response, basically a nervous system stuck in fight, flight or freeze, will always give priority to survival. Digestion, procreation, hair, skin etc are not a priority for survival. By far 'most' of us are developmentally traumatised, and thus disregulated, since childhood. It's an ideal precursor for digestive issues. Heal from trauma, learn to regulate the nervous system and the body will gradually return to default setting. In the end everything boils down to an embodied felt sense of safety, secure attachment and authenticity.

Over 95% of the body serotonin is made in the gut. Serotonin is for sleep and mood regulation. That's why ssris and mind-altering medications don't typically work. Because the problem isn't necessarily in the brain alone.

Most cou try have drinking cultures. If go drink how do u not kill off all the good bacteria and enflame the gut lining? I have heaps of ideas but would be good to have a protocol that docs and scientists approve of. You would think all the taxes from alcohol sales would answer this question. I dont think the government wants people healthy. Same idea for Tabasco, they make trillions probably and never invested in making a lung protective Tabacco. Really they would want customers living to 100 and smoking a pack a day and of the expensive stuff. .01% of profits to research would pay for a few 100,000 scientists to work on it lol (I'm bad at math)

While most serotonin is produced in the gut, the brain's serotonin system is distinct. The serotonin used in the brain is synthesized within the brain and doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier. This serotonin regulates mood, sleep, and other neurological functions. Gut-produced serotonin primarily influences the gut and indirectly impacts the brain through the gut-brain axis (a bidirectional communication network involving the vagus nerve, immune signaling, and microbial metabolites).

I did colonoscopy and i am diagnosed with IBS. The most effective way for me to keep everything at check and to feel ok is to remove dairy ( lactose ) and fruit ( fructose ) from my diet. Fiber rich foods also worsens my condition ( legumes are the worst ) so i would question the fact that it promotes good gut health, especially undigestible fibers. That contributes 80% to the problem in my case and pretty much in all cases, the other 20% is stress that worsens my condition. So diet is pretty much the solution, to avoid also industrial processed foods, vegetable oils and emulgators and additves.

Why would a German documentary mention Kimchi and not sauerkraut as a probiotic?
@frederichominh3152
@frederichominh3152 15 күн бұрын
Because it's a vegan propaganda filled with bollocks and not a documentary. A probiotic is something that is supposed to seed the guts with good living organisms. If you need to eat it again and again, it's not probiotic, it's.... food. Kimchi like sauerkraut are simply fermented food because fermentation reduces the content of toxins and anti nutrients in plants. Like all cabbages, if not fermented or not deeply cooked,, they wreck your thyroid with goitrogens.

Buterate production seems to be the end goal of a healthy gut. Lactate, was also mentioned. If I remember correctly, a diet with no fibre or very little, can do this as well. Processed foods are the main problem. Some ppl have sensitivities to plants and do better on predominantly meat based diet, and vica versa. This doc has a more plant based bias, which is fine. On the whole it depends what inherent sensitivities u have and what environmental stressors there are to aggrevate or cause an issue. But I think it always comes limiting processed foods.

Having gut issues? Try these three things if you haven't already: 1) Cut way back on, or completely avoid, milk-based products. Lactose intolerance is extremely common, and often gets much worse as we age. 2) Eliminate wheat-based foods with heavily worked gluten - particularly breads, pastries and pasta. Thick gluten is like chewing gum in your gut. It is very hard to digest. 3) Cut back on acidic foods and beverages like wine and tomato-based products. Your gut is already acidic, and additional acid can stimulate a lot of problems. You will need to experiment to find out what works and what doesn't. Good luck!

I get gut aches when I'm particularly stressed. The only thing I can do to make it pass is lie down for a few hours or sleep on it. I actually have a pretty healthy diet with lots of veggies and keep active by running and walking. I guess my gut tells me to slow down when life becomes too much. Eating kefir and sauercraut helps.

I can't help but question our obsession with clean and how that affects our gut. Our ancestors ate food caught in the wild and I don't think they ran to the pond to clean it if it got a little sand or grass or feathers on it. And I'm sure they didn't wash dishes with detergent. Are we missing out on healthy bacteria that would come from the detritus that we're avoiding? Not that I want to eat feathers and fur and sand but it does beg the question.

DM always brings us high quality documentaries. If only more people could watch them, those for instance who (still) drink sodas, eat at McDonald's, KFC's and other massive diseases providers. I am shocked every time I go to supermarkets and witness people buying Coca Cola by entire buckets, i.e : 6 bottles of 1,5 lit, in 2025. There should be a law alike the one on packs of cigarettes saying this beverage will give you diabete within 2 to 3 years. I have stopped all junk food for years now.

It took me 4 years to notice that red meat was causing me stomach issues. I stopped taking red meat (beef, sausages, smokies, pork, mutton) and my gut issues reduced by almost 80%. I also react poorly to mangoes for some reason, which was a bummer as they were my best fruits. I now only take oranges and bananas.

I try to eat less food in order to prevent myself from fat. My height is 1,73 cm, and the weight is 60 kg. My parents are complaining about my appetite always. They are saying I look skinny and no energy for hard work. If I eat more my stomach becomes round and legs and hands are thin.

@ you’re clearly not familiar with body biology are you. Antibiotics KILL good bacteria in the guts, hence causing a temporary collapse of a balanced digestive system. Doesn’t matter if the antibiotics were for respiratory or brain disease or whatnot.

Happy this gets more attention! "Going Vegetarian/Vegan", or "eat more fiber" will often not help the chronically ill which is always recommended, I know. I can't eat any sort of bean (FODMAPs intolerance) or lots of fiber, I will need painkillers the whole day... :S Eating lots of fermented foods?? Forget it, I'm intolerant to histamine rich foods... :S No regular intestinal Doctor in the general hospital understand this, no health influencer understands this... when your microbiome is complete chaos, you need serious medical intervention... but it's not there.... because no Intestinal Doctor takes microbiomes serious! It angers me to no end. I suffer from this 30 years already, they keep telling me it's IBS and "just accept it"...

Probiotics don’t work for me. Apple cider vinegar (capsule form) cured my irritable bowel syndrome by some 90%. I have switched my multi vitamins supplement to a brand that does not cause bowel movements. I also avoid dairy products and cut down on sugar and coffee. I try to improve my fibre intake by taking oats but found that I get stomach upset and don’t seem to be able to digest all that fibre. My mental health improved with my gut health.

Bio of the gut Effects dreams and sleep Heavy is the birden of over Eating Discipline Is What I gonna Be Bio Dome Ticket Master Front Row The Sun and Moon Show Me With the Dream I have This Night Alton AI version It seems like you're reflecting on the impact of gut health on our dreams and sleep patterns, as well as the potential consequences of overeating. Taking care of our bodies through discipline and mindful eating is indeed important for overall well-being. It's fascinating how our physical health can intertwine with our dreams and sleep quality. You also mention a "Bio Dome" and a desire to be in the front row of the "Sun and Moon" show. If these dreams or images hold special meaning for you, I encourage you to explore and pursue them further. Dreams can inspire us and open doors to new experiences and self-discovery.
