I completely agree. With a bigger budget and a little more risk-taking in the script, this could have been a really fun time. I didn't hate it, but I was disappointed by how safe and muted it was at times.

As soon as you said there was no real reason established for the jealousy between the elder bridesmaid and Evie I immediately laughed. I think unfortunately men will never really understand how catty women can sometimes be towards one another. Evie was competition that’s all it took. From the moment she laid eyes on her. She’s younger, she’s pretty and she’s getting all the attention. Boom! Jealousy! And Yes, that’s all it was! Btw, I LOVED THIS MOVIE! ✌🏽❤️
@ashpotatoes942 жыл бұрын
Reducing it to "women are petty jerks" is kinda an insult to women. Had a man said this about all women would you not have been offended he assumed that of YOU? If that was the case, simply having the jealous character say one line alluding to her jealousy would have been enough. There was no line so we have no motivation. It sets the audience up for confusion.

The movie is visually beautiful and the first half was full of atmosphere and intrigue, however the second half was very predictable and disappointing! Overall, the cinematography is great and the main character is relatable. They blew the ending! Despite that, I enjoyed the movie!

I enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. My critique would be the uneventful, almost boring, fight scenes. I liked the alternative take of how/why Dracula identifies and takes a bride. I also enjoyed Evie and her bestie’s banter and perspective, though, it seemed Evie forgot about a lot of it once she got across the pond. The Dracula character was classically handsome, but, more creepy than charming. Everything else, the pacing, the backdrop, the idea of lineage versus class and race, and the buddy vibe at the end was entertaining. Overall, I’d give it a 3.8/5.

Great review! Love your channel. That said, it's unfortunate that many trailers these days give away so much of the plot of the film such as it appears with this one. I actually stopped watching the trailer halfway through as I saw it was starting to give away far more than I wanted to know. I intended watching this though but hopefully knowing what the twist is won't ruin my experience. I think a film should stand on its own regardless of its twist. Also I absolutely loved Ready or Not.

First time watching a review, and I could not agree more. Just came home from seeing the movie. My bf and I agreed, the trailer didn't leave much shock and awe for any of the twists in the movie. The ending definitely felt rushed, the racial comments felt forced and alot of the story points didn't really make sense. Could have been a longer film, R Rating, and a more fleshed out ending. No pun intended. I was surprised when Sub-Zero showed up to officiate the wedding, nice touch. 👍

I actually watched this movie because my siblings convinced me since they're huge fans of vampire stuff so I bought tickets online and went to watch it in theaters and honestly it was painfully slow at first and sometimes it cuts off the scary parts almost as if the writers forgot its supposed to be scary, it only gets a little interesting when the main eve realizes that the people are actually vampires and tries to defend herself rather than having someone save her and have a love relationship overall it's a meh movie

@elbandito5411 Жыл бұрын
I give lots of movies a chance even if the trailer does little to entice me into watching it. But unfortunately what this falls under is the on going agenda to be inclusive in movies. One problem with that I have noticed is they concentrate to much on the inclusion and the story suffers for it. The story was boring and there was no twist to it. It was obvious that it was a vampire movie but it just wasn't interesting. They tried to make it modern by putting a black woman with tattoo and nose ring texting and face timing her friend and then she kills the main vampire then turns into a female Van Helsing in the end. Lol it's just not cool. If people need a film with representation then they need to realize there is something wrong with themselves. It means you are not capable to appreciate other people's work unless it's from someone of the same race as yours. If it needs to happen they can at least make new stories with brand new characters. Not take old characters and swap them for different races. Other than that, this movie was not good at all.
