I hope Deacon does well, and I am content to enjoy a position that was once chock full of uncertainty but now is arguably our strongest skill position (on paper) and THAT is a welcome change. I finally feel that in the very least we could see a competent offensive system. The only caveat I had was Kirk not wanting to relinquish the reigns on the offense, however it sounds like he has accepted the changes coming along with the offense after being initially resistant. It didn't come off like coach speak, at least to me. I hope my intuition is correct here.

His Shanahan scheme he’s bringing is something Iowa fans have never seen before it’s modern offense alotta motion I’m super excited and he’s super open to what the players like to run to alotta people don’t know the truth and think it’s just Kirk’s show and it makes me laugh just watch

Tim is going to learn the Ferentz path…will have the reins on him if Kirk sees sloppiness, but let’s hope our line can pass block and a WR emerges

Agree. Iowa is let's be honest a mid stream football team that has over achieved due to coaches coaching up 2 and 3 star players to 4 star players. Weren't has owned this part of football since the beginning. With a few hiccups here and there for example his son. But for the most part it has been stellar as far as coaching up a midstream team.

Everybody gave the qbs hell the past few years but really it has been the o line. The qbs havent had time to look at rwads, or plant and throw. Constantly had a defender in their face. You cannot expect a college qb to be able to deal with that every play. The o lines pass protection has been garbage. Not to mention the dropped balls from receivers. I cannot count the amount of times the ball hit them in their hands and was dropped. Also giving up on routes was huge. 1. If the ball hits your hands you are expected ro catch it. 2. If you are running a play and your route is not the 1 read you still need to run your route as if it was the 1 read because the qb needs options. Not to mention it helps protect your man ( quarter back) so he has an out for the play.

Defected. Oliver Martin, Keagan Johnson, Arland Bruce IV, Charlie Jones, Tyrone Tracy all left for other schools in the span of 2 years. Jones now plays for the Bengals, Tracy plays for the Giants. Oliver Martin plays for Jacksonville. Keagan is playing at Kansas State and Arland was never cleared to play for Oklahoma State after he plead guilty to underage gambling. We were gutted at wideout.
