Alt Store installation can probably be a video on it's own it is kind of tricky. Also an unlikely combo is running a pi off of the usb-c port this one has: battery has enough juice to power it up or with a small hub you can charge and connect one at the same time and basically it gives you most of what you'd want out of a portable computer by communicating with that Raspberry Pi running Linux which makes up for the weird limitations you have on the ipads like file management and installing some useful applications and such.

@@chriswright8074 nah man, ios has always been better in terms of cpu and gpu over android. And fun fact, this year is one of the years where there wasn't much improvement from last gen A14 and the A15 still is a beast. This is coming from someone who uses both android (S21+) & ios (11 Pro Max) hand in hand. My 11 Pro Max is faster in everyday tasks and gaming compared to the Samsung S21+ (that I'm actually typing from right now). Although android chips aren't as powerful, android as a whole has its own benefits in terms of being not locked out. I can run KZbin Vanced without having to deal with my PC etc like in ios to sideload apps via the Altstore route. Whereas on ios, pretty much all games run better there, eg MSF, genshin impact etc, and this is on an 11 Pro Max from 2019...

As for what you're saying about not knowing how Snapdragon SoCs would fair on iOS System, since apple is locked etc, it doesn't really matter, as what matters is real world performance, and like I just said, even cross platform games work best on Apple chips, and again I mentioned Genshin Impact, Marvel Strike Force, Contest of Champions, Future Fight and most recently future revolution. These are all games that I pretty much load on every device I own, and honestly I only ever play on android if I'm doing something on my Apple devices that I don't want to interrupt, and even then, the performance is horrendous. I have an iPhone 8 Plus bought on October 22 2017, that still runs way better/comparably to the Samsung S21+ that I have and the old Samsung S8+ that I have hasn't rarely is used which again was bought in 2017 as its so slow compared to the IPhone 8 Plus. Each platform has its perks and shortcomings, but android based chips are honestly inferior in terms of raw power compared to apple silicone. Geekbench 5 shows that pretty well and I see he performance first hand everyday. The S21+ was literally lagging right now in Mozilla, and it's not the only time it does that. Whereas I don't experience such hiccups on my iOS devices.

@@chriswright8074 even that guy Gary Explains or something has shown time and again that apple A series chips are way much better in terms of raw power using his own custom cpu and gpu testing app he developed. I run my iPhone 11 Pro Max on Low Power Mode everyday which clocks down the cpu power to lower battery usage without even any hiccups, whereas on the S21+ I actually have to turn on the "Processing Speed" and it still isn't performing that well. And most recently a lot of people have been getting some really abysmal throttling and low scores with geekbench on the S21+ in the tune of 500 for single core and 2500 for multi core tests on geekbench 5, and I only noticed these low scores after being surprised by the recent stutters I'd been experiencing and testing with geekbench to confirm if something was up.

You can actually run DolphiniOS, but you need to use a workaround. I tried Wii on my iPad mini and it ran eh, had some spikes oob. I must mention that I did not change any settings so there might be some stuff you can change in order to get better performance. I also forgot to test GameCube but I’m sure it’d run fine. PD: most PSP games can run on up to 10x.

On the 13 pro max dolphin runs SM galaxy full speed, minus a few rare, brief stutters. SM sunshine works great too. I’m guessing the underclock and the missing gpu core has a fair impact on performance. I also believe the workaround (JIT) still runs the games slower than on a jailbreak because of app restrictions (saw somewhere about 20-60% slower). If that number is true, then dolphin could likely run full speed on the iPad mini, given you jailbreak or an app exploit is found, whenever those would become available.

@@pliz hm. Did you do any changes to the emulator settings? I ran Super Mario Galaxy 2 and it was somewhat laggy, and definitely did not run at full speed most of the time. Regardless, I believe you cannot connect a Wii controller so playing any wii games would be quite the challenge.

Also 13 pro series are a fair bit faster than iPad mini, since the mini has an underclocked a15 and the pro series has an extra gpu core compared to the base a15 You’re also able to set up the touch screen to work like a trackpad for the wiimote, so it’s not too bad, but really not optimal when the gameplay is dependant on quick and accurate pointing.

The Switch emulator is coming to iOS soon . It will run at full speed on iPhone 11 and higher….on the Android side, RoG 5 and S21 ultra can run a lot of Switch games like Breath of the wild at full speed.

Saturn isn’t a joke I tried grandia saturn original version and it wouldn’t goto 60 frames lagging like 20 something on first gen 2016 google pixel Xl snapdragon 821 4gb ram but the Samsung note 10+ with snapdragon 855 ran it at 60 but that phone also has 12gb ram so android side the ram matters as much as the chip version for emulation for sure so seeing this run on a a15 iPhone 13 underclocked means my iPhone 13 base would run even better than this

It's sad that no manufacturer is willing to release a high spec 8 inch android tablet. The last one I can remember is the Galaxy Tab S2. Anything after that is just using low spec hardware with cheap display. All the high end tablet on the market now is so huge it's impossible to hold it for long on one hand

When emulating games on iOS, delta is essential. It's made by the same person who created altstore, and as such its available right from the app. It emulates N64 just fine, so thats already one step above retroarch, and it also runs nes, snes, gb, gbc, gba, ds, and genisis.

You can play nintendo 64 games with Delta, as gba, gbc, snes and nds games too in the same emulator. You can also play nintendo gamecube and wii games with the DolphiniOS emulator. These were all tested up by me, and they work perfectly on a jailbroken iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 14.7.1 jailbroken with unc0ver
