To your comment about garen: Korea is more about micro and earlygame fights, euw is more about macro and winning over time. Garen is more favored if you think in concepts of getting the most amount of farm and scaling rather than fighting. An example: Not joining a fight on grubs will lead to surrendering on the korean server. Not joining a fight as garen in euw will just stall the tempo letting the garen get in position or the jungler letting the grubs fall for an advantage elsewhere. Garen cant win because of the difference of mentality of players in Korea compared to euw. Thats also why differing metas exist. A lot of the meta is being able to read what other players what to achieve in what timescale and acting to achieve that, and of cause you also have strong stat sticks (champions) from previous buffs and champions that counters them.
