Also Kevin did have one condition for the film and it was said by Jeremy Allen White that Kevin said "the one thing that is important to me is the love and bond I had with my brothers. As long as u get that right, I'll love the movie no matter what" that's the only condition Kevin had.

The WWE produced documentary you were thinking of was The Triumph & Tragedy Of World Class Championship Wrestling As far as The Iron Claw goes; haven't been to a theater in years, but had to see this one in the theater. Really enjoyed the movie & thought it could have been longer

I'm happy I got to learn about the Von Erichs through Documentaries and Kerry Von Erich matches (I knew more about Kerry Von Erich), so when I heard they were making a Bio Pic of The Von Erichs I immediately said "Guys bring some tissues for this film cause for those that know the story then they know what's to come. One minor nitpick for this film I have is that Zac Efron I believe got a little too jacked to play Kevin Von Erich. His body should've gone to Jeremy Allen White who played the more Muscular Von Erich in Kerry Von Erich. That my minor nitpick. Another minor Nitpick I had was that they cut out Chris Von Erich but I understood why they did it. And I believe Kevin Von Erich said it cause one of Kerry's Daughters who asked "Why is Uncle Chris not in it" and Kevin said that the director told him that the movie would've been over 3 hours long and the movie was already tragic enough so they had to cut him out. And yeah I understand the runtime situation but yeah Chris Von Erich shouldn't have been skipped.

The biggest problem I had with this movie was the fact that they cut out Chris Von Erich. Also was it me or did Zack Efron look a little to old and little too jacked to play Kevin

I personally thought Zack looked young. He also did a GREAT JOB. And while I don't care for Actors, almost every person I talked to that had an interest in it was going to see it because of Zack Efron alone.

That's kind of a classic wrestling fan critique. The majority of the people who see this movie won't be looking at it through a critical lens the same way a diehard wrestling fan will.

Kevin had no input into the movie and saw it when it was completed. The idea to go soft on Fritz was that of the producer and screenwriter. They said they left Chris out because the audience could not bear another suicide. I have to agree with you that to leave him totally out was to disrespect him and feels somehow morally wrong. Even somewhere at the end or in the credits had they said "Chris Von Erich the youngest son also took his life". But to erase a human being just does not sit right.

Great is a word I wouldn't use to describe Iron Claw & as a longtime fan of the Von Erichs, especially Kerry, I was so pumped for this movie & the trailer just amped my excitement up! Despite going into the movie knowing that it wasn't all that accurate to the real story & Chris Von Erich was completely cut out of the movie, I was still excited. I left disappointed eventhough I didn't think it was a bad movie at all. My issue was strictly story, I thought the actors were phenomenal & don't hold them responsible for the story that I thought was bland, rushed & rang hollow. But I've accepted that the movie wasn't meant for longtime fans in the know, it's for the general audience & casuals who know very little to nothing about the Von Erichs. Even the cliff note version of the Von Erich tragedies is enough to shake the casuals to their core because even hearing the summary of these deaths in such a short period of time is absolutely unbelievable that it really happened to one single family. But for me they didn't do all that deep & there wasn't that much development from family after each tragedy from anyone in the family other than Kevin. It was just so bland & it just felt like once David died they hit the gas pedal to speed through the tragedies. It feels like in the movie they compressed all the tragedy into 2-3 years when in reality it happened between 1984-93 & a lot of thing happened in between each death & changed a lot of people. Something I didn't see in this film & only really got one good moment of grief from Doris, a woman in reality who buried 4 kids in 9 years & 5 overall in her lifetime. That's unfathomable to think a mother truly went through that & I didn't see that in the movie version of Doris. The Von Erich story needs to be a mini-series to do it any kind of justice but I guess not to casuals

What's that thing is there's a lot of Dads like that. Some parents don't have business being parents.

The fact that I didn’t really catch any overly bad parental themes in his character shows that maybe I had a traumatic childhood… more traumatic than I remember😂

There was a few things you got wrong. Not all the brothers were married with kids. Chris was not married, Mike was married but divorced before he died & had no children, David was married & was the first to have kids but his daughter died of SIDS. Fritz did not tell Chris he couldn't wrestle. Chris was the only kid Fritz didn't pressure to get in the ring, being a wrestler was his dream as he looked up to his dad & brothers. But he had asthma at a young age & the medication he took for it stunted his growth & gave him brittle bones. The brittle bones are what made it impossible for Chris to have a wrestling career in any era. While that was definitely devastating to him it wasnt the only factor that drove him to end his own life. He suffered from severe depression at the loss of his brothers, especially Mike who he was the most close to. Add on that a severe drug habit & you've got a ticking timebomb that nobody thought should get help until it was too late & he put a gun to his head. It was actually Chris who Kevin found shot & not Kerry, so i guess that was another element of Chris that Sean Durkin put into his story to make up for cutting Chris out of his film. Durkin was right that throwing in Chris & his tragic ending would've made the movie too sad but thats the point, the tragedy part of the Von Erich story is sad. If he wasnt willing to take on ALL of its sadness then he shouldn't have done the movie. I give a C+ & its only that high because of the great acting.

I love the movie my favorite movie of the year so far one of the best movies I've ever seen. However I think it was in bad taste not to include the other brother. I understand the director meant well but his story deserves to be told. He wasn't doing any service to him by ignoring his story. Just my opinion.
