It's impossible to tell with James Gunn, really.

In case you're actually confused: Creature Commandos is in continuity with James Gunn's The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. After the events of Peacemaker, Waller's Task Force X program was publicly exposed and she was forbidden from using humans (or metahumans) as disposable mercenaries, hence the premise of this show, because these characters aren't legally recognized as humans. (This was covered in Episode 1, btw.)

Im glad Clayface is getting a lot more attention in DC since, on top of making his official DCU debut in this episode, he is also getting his own horror movie set in James Gunn's The DCU for 2026 under the direction of Mike Flanagan, which will be interesting since he's a big fan of Clayface episodes from Batman The Animated Series and I can see him really dive into the characters body horror elements and themes of identity crisis and lack of self-love. I am a bit confused about whether Frankenstien did actually kill the blind old lady because don't we see her in episode 1 calling Frankenstein to tell him she found The Bride? I believe the reason why Frankenstein killed the blind old woman is that he has a psychopathic mind that thinks being alone is worse than death because he thinks facial beauty or being with someone is better than being alone or ugly, which means worse than being alive. I have to say David Harbour is giving such a great, interesting performance as this take on Frankenstein, who is a hilarious psychotic manbaby, a hopeless romantic and elegant with his words. Yet, he sells you on this character so well that you still find this character so fascinating to watch since he's kinda unpredictable. Honestly, this is one of the most unique takes on Frankenstein's monster I've ever seen.

Frankenstein is a despicable psychopath. So far in the flashbacks we learn a bit about each commando, but in Frankenstein's flashback we learn about how terrible he is. You could almost forgive him for killing Dr Frankenstein out of jealousy, but not some kind old lady. Went back to watch the scene of Circe's interrogation, and the professor is wearing a different shirt. Clayface is wearing the same color of shirt in the interrogation, so my money is on him impersonating the professor.

The messed up thing about eric is. This isnt really his fault. He was made this way he didnt exactly learn to be this way. Plus when you think about it the bride was literally made for him. So it makes sense why he's obsessed but that doesnt make it ok

Fun fact: Blight is actually based off of Dr. Phosphorus. But they couldn’t used him so that’s how Blight was created! Also, Blight also inspired the redesign of Dr. Phosphorus.
