Awesome video! I'm a welder fabricator myself and absolutely loved the episode of the build of this rig. I'm really glad you did this KZbin video to show all the details you don't see on TV. I love all the details and that the pto winch actually works and is not just for looks. There is to be much to list of all the things that I like that you did to this rig. You definitely did it the right way and put thought into everything on the rig. Please do more videos like this with all the builds that you do. I love seeing the inter working and detailing that you don't see on TV! Thanks for doing this video and keep them coming. merica the fuck on!

Reminds me a lot of a homemade K 8 International wrecker a service station owner made back in the 60's. Thing had all kinds of strange shit on the back of it, as a kid i had no idea what most of it was, but it was cool. Ran across it sitting in the back of a junkyard in the late 80's just as I remembered it. Fully understanding then what everything was and how crude it was, everything on it served a purpose. You do a hell of a job replicating what they did back in the day using whatever they had to get the job done.

@ghosttheoremproductions54695 жыл бұрын
Paid to build for tv. Customer doesn't actually care about the final product unless they plan to auction it after. Most of the vehicles you see built for shows just sit and rot immediately after. The views are the product not the vehicles. Most of what you see built for tv would fall apart shortly after if you tried to actually use it. Just bandaided together everywhere they aren't showing you. Notice he says "The cool thing about this truck is that everything works"? That's because most of those builds are just for show and can't do much and if they can they don't do it well. How often do you see a show where they spends ages on test/tune/tweak like you have to do on a real project? TV car builders are to real builders what wrestling is to MMA.
@slowpokebr5495 жыл бұрын
@@ghosttheoremproductions5469 It's the same with TV bike builds. I hit a lot of bike shows. I've seen three OCC builds and only one of them was a runner. Up close they were really cheaply built, all paint and store bought chrome. I talked to one of the guys that traveled with two of the bikes. He was NOT a fan of the Teutuls.

How do you go welding on the work bench at the back, do you have to disconnect the earth on the trucks battery, or do you just run the welders earth close to the job?
@johnmorris79604 жыл бұрын
Nah, its a mechanical engine. On a computerized machine you would disconnect the ground cable but not on a mechanical. If you are on a mechanical setup that has a computer on board for other purposes then yes that would still need to be protected. I bet this setup has the welder grounded straight to the truck.

Would’ve like more explanation on the “I can run anything on the truck. Old oil trans fluid” with the fass lift pump.
@judahmcgalla84025 жыл бұрын
FASS stands for Fuel Air Separation System and is a combination diesel fuel lift pump and fuel filtration system that is designed to improve your diesel truck’s fuel mileage, engine performance and extend the life of your diesel injection system. So it basically filters any air, vapor, and debris out of your fuel and by doing so the injectors have an easier time injecting the fuel into the cylinder. It also helps spread the fuel evenly through the cylinder to get a more efficient and cleaner. And the reason some diesel engine can run on almost anything flammable is because unlike gasoline engines, diesels have no spark. They just compress air into the cylinder to ridiculous pressures and whilst doing that the air superheats. So when the air is at its highest compression point, fuel is injected into the cylinder and it combusts. So basically anything injected into the cylinder at that point will burn. And when you link that with the FASS pump you get a beautiful result. A truck that gets hundreds of thousands of miles on injectors and other engine parts, and can run on engine oil and trans fluid reliably and its just cool to do that. So thats the basics of what he meant.
