exactly
@QualeQualeson4 ай бұрын
Looking at GN's tests, it's not just bang for the buck, it's neck and neck with gen2 and even beats it in one aspect (dB@max speed) _with 120mm fans!_ That's a 30 month old cooler competing with a decade of gen2 R&D on performance. Noctua didn't have to blow them out of the water, but a clear performance increase had to show to defend that price. Let's say a couple ℃. It didn't even come close, and that's with the best optimal curvature results.

@@QualeQualeson I'm curious why GN hasn't bothered with the Phantom Spirit. They tested PA 120 mini that came out later but still haven't gotten to PS120. Do they think the upcoming Thermalright coolers will blow everything away so they didn't bother with PS120?
@QualeQualeson4 ай бұрын
@@ailluinthethyra6139 There are limits to their workload I guess, and Thermalright tends to flood the market with models. I think people get confused and stick with PA, which to be fair still beats the newer ones in some tests. It becomes a question of bothering with the steady releases of new models unless one causes a real stir I guess, and I'm not sure PS for example has really done that.

I'd laugh in the new TR new flagship 'Royal Preytor' (terrible name btw) matches or outperform this at a fraction of the cost. Which has been in development for so many years. The price will be hard to justify for people looking at 'good enough' solutions for half the price or less. But at the higher end of the spectrum where this is intended to perform, you're deciding between the D-15 G2 and an AIO. At that point, yes, there are some cheaper AIOs that will perform better, but there's also draw backs with those solutions. Namely, reliability. AIOs have a life span of five to six years and that's it. Plus they can simply go bad and fail. Worst that can happen here, is a fan dies. Mount a D15 G2 with PTM 7950 and you can bet good money it'll still be running fine in ten years, provided you keep the system clean. If you pass your system down to someone else, or keep the cooler through multiple upgrades, then you need to double the cost of any AIO to match an HSF's life span. Going with a lesser cooler also doesn't make as much sense when you consider the cost over that time span, or the possibility a lesser cooler won't meet future demand.

With my G2 fins vibration issue doesn't exist across whole speed range and I mean with sticking your ear to the cooler. I obviously have fans mounted higher and correctly, but that's the thing. It's great that you care about details, especially acoustic anomalies which most reviewers don't mention, but when doing so, you should pay more attention to make sure everything on your side is as it should be. Your example shows fans mounted incorrectly or at least not in default position - right tower should be the thinner one. Also right fan looks positioned lower than cooler height when such scenario doesn't make sense, not counting probably there're no RAM modules which can fit like that. I don't want to defend Noctua and personally find potential problem unnacceptable in such premium cooler - quality and pleasant acoustics, something more than low dBA, are from main reasons you buy premium cooling gear. These are just my two cents and my take would be there's a problem if it happens with fans mounted in any position equal or above cooler's height.

king? with only less than 5% difference performance compared to its predecessor while there are many decent air cooler with better price to performance yet you called it king.

160EUR to gain 3C lower temp ? No way, at that price you can get a big top AIO giving you even better temps, or buy a 5-pack of TR PA120^^ Plus my 7950X3D can't exceed 150W, while doing many things tho

Nobody should buy this Fawking overpriced CPU cooler, Noctua & Nvidia are on the same Greedy boat, their objectives is to bleed out Gamers to death, why should i ever pay 150€ for this, unless you're Mad, there are way cheaper CPU cooler that can handle 160W

The Noctua NH-D15 G2 is overpriced & not worth it, for $10USD more you can buy a NZXT Kraken Elite 280 AIO which will have -10c lower CPU temperature & will perform much better while staying quite. The customer should not be punished because noctua wasted R&D time....

@wedgoku हम आप की बात से पूर्ण सहमत है , बिल्कुल सहीं 👏👏👏।

For 80€ less you can buy an Arctic LF III 360, which is better than both, the nzxt and the noctua... Saying noctua is overpriced and then talking about NZXT is just ironic.

Not for this price and this ugly color

30:45 can we get a petition to ban the black colour of death version? the original silver non painted version is much better.

all these years and noctua still makes their products look like crap, it is too expensive and yeah the quality and additional mounting kits being sent to you is great but nah I'll always go with arctic aios at that price, noctua is just overrated and overpriced
