The LA Times an article years ago about the misfits on Staten Island . They were not talking about rattlesnakes

So it's no longer a rattle snake . It's the Santa Catalina pit viper.

I didn't know rattlesnakes could de-evolve!! I didn't know rattlesnakes are nocturnal. We recently went to a museum in Arizona, and when the docent shined UV light on scorpions, they glowed in the dark.

I thought Santa Catalina Island was part of California? Or is it part-California and Part-Mexico?

So, are the rattlers primarily lizard feeders Dave? You missed a few chances to educate us Dave.

What do those vipers eat? Maybe the city of Washington DC could rehome their many rat families, which they require kept together, there…

Do they “think” they still have rattled? Why do other species mock the tail rattling ? Are they intelligent and have reasoned over millennia that rattlesnakes are particularly scary...so if I rattle, nobody will bother me, either?

So they have no rattles. Would you call it de-evolve, or evolving to their environment. I know some say they have evolved to become rattle less for hunting purposes... my personal thoughts though. Like many brick structures I’d not treated properly and cared for on a register basis, the salty sea water from rain, condensation, humidity... will start to break down. So with that in mind my theory is that the rattle snake has evolved to not have a rattle not for hunting purposes, and I wouldn’t call I’d de-evolution.. but that the salt water, and everything else I’ve mentioned prior is that it would have effects on the material that the rattle is made up of that eliminated their rattle. But who knows
@CimotaTJ6 жыл бұрын
So what is your theory?
@bigptm13644 жыл бұрын
So if it's a rattle less rattle snake, do we just call them snakes? Kinda boring. How about, used to have rattle snakes!?
