Ive really missed this series; in fact it is actually how I first found X Zaguers channel, through this very series, it’s still one of my favourites and this gave me a massive nostalgia boost. Keep up the good work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

he missed something in the very first concept art image; the one with the adult and baby walking together. pterodactylus are swarming the adult, either attacking it or... mmm... cleaning it?

Zaguers if you did a series of like, dinosaur breakdowns and or break down of monsters (and or their moves sets and game play) from video games and movies I would EAT THAT UP. I remember you mentioning the blend of content is hard to juggle and it this was more a less food for thought. I have always enjoyed your voice and breakdown videos and often listen to you while drawing or working the night shift. Cheers from the Northern U.S! 💚💪

I just wonder how camara, bronto, and diplo are going to be different from one another. I'd mostly love for brontosaurus to be intended to be a brutish asshole that uses its thick neck to plow through foliage and anything in its way, as opposed to the usual trope of a sauropod's tail being its main defense.

One gripe i had with this concept art is that we didn't have camara fighting or killing an apex. They were being hunted by both giga and acro in their concept arts, so I was expecting camara to shove them aside or even stomp them.

i think for nesting, the hatchies should be limited to a maximum of 2 think about it: the largest animals on our planet have very few offspring and instead invest more in actively raising them, so i think it makes the most sense for camara and the like to have only 2. if you only have 1 hatchie, it's easier to protect and feed, but more devastating if it dies (no more hatchies) if you have 2 hatchies, it's a bit more challenging to protect, but it's more likely for 1 to make it to adulthood if it has "insurance" via its sibling.

Well, sauropods had a strategy of producing as many young as possible based upon the fundamental principle that sauropods' only real defence is their size against predators. Given that until that point they are vulnerable, it makes sense to maximise the number of hatchlings to guarantee that at least a few would survive long enough to reach adulthood. Additionally, the food eaten by adults and young are not going to be the same, nor located in the same places. Therefore, the young would have to be more or less self sufficient as a group and go it alone whilst the adults would be forced to move on to other places. Without the protection of adults, the young would be picked off by any predator that could find them, thereby keeping their population in balance, but if hatchlings were only limited to 2 per nest, the chances of any surviving until adulthood would probably be impossible

6:10 before sanctuaries were added and juvie pachys weren't able to knock down coconuts from the tree and crack them open, they needed adult pachy to do it for them. I like this seeing the mechanic here, gives much immersion and herbi players will more likely get into groups if the mechanic is kept

I can see Camarasaurus laying tons of eggs like sauropods are usually depicted doing. But what I think might happen in the Isles is that the juve will follow parents or herds while the herd members or parents will help them with protection and sometimes getting food. But I don’t see it like the adults being super good parents but instead being more casual parents and not helping too much.

Y know what would be really cool. If you tried a series were you improve old isle concept arts or even for other stuff.(just the concept not the art) or make your own unique concepts. That would be cool.

i think cama will be able to protect itself from other large predators, but since you will probably get killed 50% of the times (if you're fighting an apex), you should try to find a herd for more protection Camarasaurus alone, weak. Camarasaurus together, strong.

Man seeing all the old isle game play made me tear up ngl, but i love this concept analysis. Ive always loved playing as camas mainly because I just wanted to be big and chill out with other dinos and not be constantly targeted. I can only hope their exicution of this wonderful dino is decent and that it doesnt take hours just to get across the map like in legacy.

I mean.... its better than toxic meat lmfao. Thing is i feel cama should be the only sauropod they bring to the game. Its hard to really diversify the gameplay while also keeping some element of realism. I dont mind the same slow herbivore gameplay. As long as it has multiple elements to keep it stimulating during each session

being honest i wonder how venom or sickness will wok with the bigger herbivores, it migth give samll or medium tiers a chance or it would be useless, well taking by example the only big herbi we have stego, an adult alone, can be killed by a well cordinated cera pack becuase sickness , i know i have seen it , well at least in spiro but i doubt that makes a diferrence , and once a group of trodons killed me as a almost full adult carno (but being honest i was in a bad position) , so now i wonder can dinosaurs like cera or dilo or even an army of raptors kill a camara or any large herbi....it depends , there are low chances but it depends of the player some players are really good some are just bad, so sometimes it just depends ...(but probably no)

I am sort of disappointed that Camara seems to be an active parent, I always believed that playing any Sauropod should be among the most challenging to grow to adulthood and not having an active parent should be one of those challenges. Also, as a side note, I hope that the devs give players a reason to have mating disputes. As of now, nesting is a mechanic that isn't done very often and attempting to harm one another over a mechanic that is hardly used is rather pointless. I would suggest that, during certain time frames of a season (Which I presume are coming), males must relocate and compete for nesting rights. In order to coax players into performing the act, I think giving them some sort of stat increase after they have completed this ritual is best. In a variety of species during their mating season, certain chemicals are produced to the extreme resulting in hyper aggressive males. It would be very interesting for that concept to become a mechanic in game which will only be granted after successfully competing and mating - hopefully a stat boost is enough of a boon for players to coax them into nesting.

i think they just wanted to make camara different from the other sauropods (diplo, bronto, brachi), that's why it will be an active parent also cama is probably the weakest of all the sauropods in the game and it is really slow compared to other dinos, so i think it makes sense to make it an active parent.

@@The_Primitive Whilst I agree with most of the things you say - I don't think Camara should be considered as a "Middle Tier" which, if it was then I'd agree with all the things you say. I think Camara should have relative safety as an adult and only really fear or combat against Apexs. Sure a coordinated middle tier carnivore pack could take down a Camara but other than that and previously mentioned apex tiers I believe Camara should be relatively unchecked whilst other sauropods will need entire groups of apexs against them to take them down. Most of the joy when playing a sauropod should be growing up, working through the various challenges you face as an adolescent before you really start to stack on weight. I feel like having a family structure will make that too easy to accomplish. Sauropods should by all means be the tankiest creatures in the game and only be subject to failure when at a young age or under the most dire of circumstances.
