By the way Mombie! Maia’s best attack is its stomp which is activated by holding LMB. Maia’s left click attack (the front limb swinging attack), right click attack (shove), and shoulder bash (pressing rmb while looking left or right) don’t do much damage. Their main use is crowd control and knocking things over. Once the other player is knocked down use the stomp on them and you’ll do a lot of damage. Maia’s stomp can 3 shot Carno’s and cerato’s if well placed. The youtuber Kouga has an excellent video on Maia’s move set so definitely check that out.

There's a few bugs still present , i believe. maia's hitbox is very bad both for attacking and being attacked (bites on maia's tail don't register) and the bugged food were the most prominent :/ still, glad to have a new mid sized herbie, absolute insane runner this one XD

they fixed the hitbox according to the latest HT update change log. of course there are bugs, that's why we have the horde test but, I have to say, the performance was pretty stable on the test server so far. surprisingly good. they even fixed the FPS drops at the port and the sand road between swamp and south. maia is so fun to play and to vs. it's strong, but also weak vs agile ones. this gonna be fun

There definitely needs to be at least a small circle of light in close proximity of dinos regardless of how good or bad their nv is. The pitch blackness is what will drive people not to play a creature because you can do nothing for half of the playtime. With a small circle of light you can at least 'feel around' in the dark opposed to not being able to tell what's around you whatsoever - since, of course, you don't have a sense of touch playing a digital dinosaur. The senses you don't have need to be compensated by the senses you do have.

to be fair, the pitch black is "just" during the transition time. most of the night you see quite ok-ish still, even those few minutes in the transition time are just awful in my opinion :/ about the feeling around. I would have loved different NV in general. like some see infra red, some can even be pitch black, but as you said, you get a kind of senses when something moves or you come close to a cliff. you could do so much with night vision. but, they are a small team and already aim for quite a lot of features, content (65 dinos) and so on. so, I also understand that this would be another huge task to implement

The bugged food is very bad problem, took so long to grow a maia, about 5 hours. I think maia is little overtuned with the stats, nothing really wants to fight it because you get knocked down by the shove and then double stomped on the head which does so much damage that you gotta run but maia can run you down with it's bipedal speed not to mention full speed mutation maia being something very cursed XD but that's only my opinion. The worst enemy of maia is KOS maias really. Hope they fix the foods and maybe tweak little bit maias stats, or release allo faster to counter maia. Anyways, great video as always Mombie 💜

thx yeah, 90% maia players also don't help much with the food but I am relaxed. it's the horde test and the stats won't be final either. just think about dibble. they doubled it's weight during it's horde test I can't wait to vs maias with dilo and omni. as a cera maias will be rather scary I guess

Sanctuary mushrooms MUST be SNIFFABLE, that feature is even more required now that they made mushrooms last only 1-2 bites. It svcks making a long trip to a sanctuary just to being hit by night time and became completely blind as herbie, only find 1 mushroom that will give you barely 15% diets that is going to last you only like 5 minutes xD

the darkness is annoying and I don't like that we can't see during the transition time at all. but, I don't need sniffable mushrooms. the sanctuaries aren't that big anyway and I like that you have to find your food in there by your own. that was just a pretty unlucky timing imo I also have to admit, that I wasted quite much time before I went to sanctuary. so, if you go straight to them, then you also have way more time to get your mushrooms

this mate is crazy. I love the reactions of the other players who are in his chopper. specially if they don't know him and he lands with the loop I also flew in arma, but, this mate does some crazy stuff yeah, allo would be very nice and I also hope they will put trike and rex on the officials.

I also really enjoy the low, near ground flying he does in his videos, reminds me of what I enjoy doing with PT in the isle :) I honestly think they can add apexes on dedicated servers for each region on officials.

@da.mombie when i remember it correctly, they changed it in the Update before Maia. In the Tab Menu, where your growth scale is, there u can select the nutrient u want to fill. I sometimes forgot that and it stayed empty.

do you have issues? I have to say, the FPS were more stable as ever and the ping was between 40 and 70. so, not stable but manageable. even at the port I didn't have frame drops. which surprised me the most

to me maia is a legend of legacy and so I am pretty happy it's finally back. but, I would recommend you a break if you feel discouraged. the game will take many more years and when you come back after a few months, you will have plenty new things to discover :)

One thing that's made me super hesitant to play the Isle is the Cani mutation. Its such an unnecessary feature. You already have Dinos with Cani dietary options. Making herbies be able to just off other herbies is going to drive away a lot of players. I've seen even other youtube channels complain about this. The only other thing stopping me from just immediately getting this game is my baked potato of a laptop that has no where near the needed requirements to run such a resource heavy game. I mean damnit, i even have issued running Genshin! GENSHIN! of all things XD

yeah, you need a pretty decent laptop or PC for this game. I really can't recommend it without a hardware that fits the needs. unfortunately this also won't get any better soon. about the canni mutation tho, herbs can't get that. just other carnivores which aren't canni be default. herbs killing herbs is down to the players. many aggro PVP players prefer to play the more easy dino to kill everything on sight. no matter if herb or carni, they play the easy ones. that's why we had so many aggro pachy when pachy was super strong, or aggro dibble after it was released super strong or care when it was the strongest. they are afraid of a challenge

not anymore. but, I played operation flashpoint cold war crisis. the first arma ever. I also played the following games arma 1, 2, 3 and a lot of day-z. both the mod and the standalone. the arma community is still one of the most awesome if have witnessed in my life. but, I am old and my reaction time and aim became so bad with every year of age, so, I stopped FPS games in general some years ago. I can't compete anymore. but I still love to watch arma and day-z content and Arma Pilot is a hell of pilot and makes nice videos

Ngl i dont understand people calling carnivore players babies in regards to maia. From what I've seen ceras and carnos could get hunted down and slaughtered. As far as i can tell Maia outruns, outstams, and outfights cerato. While carno is faster it runs out of stam much faster and should also lose the fight so if you dont escape the maia quickly youre dead meat and niether can escape by jumping or climbing. It could be a problem but it'll for sure be interesting to see how it plays out. (Edit) if you want action you could try different carnivores vs maia. Much easier to find fights and you'll still get to see how strong maia feels.

yeah, but you know, maia is new and so I thought I want to show it first. but I can't wait to vs maia as well cera will have a tough time, that's true, but carno should be able to outrun or avoid maias. so should be dilo. the others can escape on rocks. don't get me wrong, I don't say maia won't be a pain in the a... for many carni players. but, it's alpha and sometimes this dino has a good update and sometimes another. therefore, I couldn't care less

in the settings. I record with 60 FPS and so it's best to also play with 60 FPS only. this way the recording software doesn't have to convert and can record 1:1

I don't think so. maia weighs 3.8 tons. deino gets 8 tons and can grab half of it's weight on land. which would be 4 tons. so, it should be able to grab it imo
