Drain your hot water heater. There should be a drain on the bottom then hook a water hose up and wash it out till all the sediment is out. We use to live in Fl.and my dad did this because the water was horrible there.

Actually doing this could create new problems and require you to get a new hot water tank. Check into this first before doing it!!

Yes! The home we are closing on this Thursday had that smell with the hot water. It just needed a sacrificial element in the water heater. After that's replaced flush the water heater & that should fix that smell!! Enjoy your cruise guys. ❤💙🩷

That's Sulphur in the water. You can get a water softener and use the salt for iron will help some but there isn't anything that will really get it out. We are from the Appalachian mountians and it's like that. If you can find a natural spring on your property it won't smell like that. You'll get used to it

Hair looks great, don’t cut too much more off you want a little fluff in it. Growing up we had a well water I get the egg smell but their is filter you can buy that will filter out that smell plus water will taste better. Love you guys. I’m in Kentucky 62 years and love you guys.

It’s very common to have sulfur in your well water and for it to stink like eggs. It smells horrible, but it’s safe. There isn’t much you can do. Changing the hot water heater may help, but it will still smell because it’s the actual well water. It’s also likely that the new home you build will have the same issue because it’s the same well or same ground if you drill another well.

My first apartment on a lake had egg water. It was sulphur and it truly was a strong unusual smell. I also had iron in the water which turned the tub orange. I got used to it but always boiled the water first before using. Love Taylor's new haircut! Handsome! BTW Mary Mahryn is getting cuter by the minute. I find myself smiling during the entire time watching this podcast. Taylor and Soph are so real and genuine (the bandaged toes , the favorite shoes - love it).

Honestly 10000% relate to the egg smelling water 😂 It was my entire childhood and actually a common thing in our whole county because of the sulfur in the water. Some homes were worse than others depending on how often their hot water was used. We always just changed the filter rather than buying a whole new water heater but we were always reassured it wasn’t harmful? Haha

We went with a tankless hot water heater, and then added a softener = our water is perfect, Bonus - saves money using a tankless as well, it only runs and heats when in use. Ya’ll are sure one cute little family

Yes, we had that with our well water when we lived in Michigan. They put an iron filter on our system. We already had a water softner. His iron filter did the trick! No more rotten egg smell!

definitely recommend a reverse osmosis filter for the sink! it filters out a ton of metals, fluoride, lead and everything. they will say all day long there’s nothing “harmful” in it but unfortunately most American tap water is bad

Our area is well water. What We have done and my neighbors is chlorinate your well. You can do it yourself if you go online. And tell us how to do it. You literally pour bleach down. Where you're well, pipe is outside. Turn on your water And when you smell bleach let it sit for twelve hours and then you Turn on your hose outside. Flush that water until you no longer smell chlorine. Then you flush your lines inside and it's gone. I know people that have to do. One a year some people do it every few years. And it actually helps through the water heater. In our area we were told it was iron. Bacteria is not harmful, but it can make your water smell. Even with a water softener, it wasn't until the coronation happened and that actually came from a well company . There are well companies that will do it. And they showed us how to do it. It was easy peasy.

I wonder if a water softener would help with the smell? Soft water definitely is better for everyone in general. Saves your washer from build up of miner, your plumbing, better for your skin, and clothes. Idk how expensive it is to get a water softener. You'd have to do some research on it.

shop around for the hot water heater. we were told 1200 and we shopped around and found the same brand for 850 somewhere else. the egg smell from water is so off putting. hope your able to get it replaced soon. just make sure not drink the water unless its boiled just in case.

You can replace your anode rod in your hot water heater! We did that and fixed our problem. We are on well water also. Might try it before buying a new unit. Also Taylor looks more mature with this hair!

We moved into our forever home just about 3 years ago, and every time we turned around There was something breaking. It’s like everything lasted long enough for us to buy the house And go to closing and that was it. It was literally like one thing after another but 🤞🏼crossed I Think we’re ok now, lol. Water smelling like egg is something we're dealt with. Not sure how you're pumping water from the well, but if you're not doing it already, make sure the suction head floats just below the water's surface because the stinky water typically gathers/forms at the bottom. One can attach it to an jerry can or plastic drum to help it float. Our water is from a natural dam and anytime the suction head sinks to the bottom, the water is bad. Sometimes worse than others, depending on the season. It's pretty depressing when the water smells bad, so i can 100% relate. Hope it's easily fixable for you guys.

You all should definitely look into getting a water treatment … my friend has water and got a salt tank and some special filtration device, and it really helped with the smell and not having that strong odor from it. Well water can definitely be tricky. We have water as well and have a water treatment system. Highly recommend having one with water.

Please keep a watch on the inside of MM’s tire swingso no wasps or other critters build nests in it …. You may need holes in the bottom of the tire to keep water from puddling inside, attracting mosquitoes.

Hook up a hose to the drain on your hot water heater and clean it out Open the lever on the top of the heater and it will force water out the hose. we have a well and we have to do that also

My house has a well too!! It’s normal- get a rheem lifetime warranty electric water heater!! It’s from the anode rod, my dad explained. The smell went away once we replaced it!!

You can use acetone to get the paint off your shoes!! It works so well! Just do a test spot first just in case. (Soph’s nail polish remover might do the trick too)

We have a well and ours did that and we replaced the pump with a new pump system, whole house filtration system and a tankless water heater ! Never had the smell again

Be thankful you have a well my husband wants one on our property and I’m scared at the cost of that with so much rock here in Tn the smell is gross but you can put a filter on those to help some I do think it is better water than what the city water is. Yes sulphur. Get a chlorinator on the well and a multi media filtering system to filter the chlorine out and other sediment then put finishing big boy filters in line, sediment and chlorine filters! Put R/O system under your sink. If you dont fix the copper will be destroyed! Its tearing up the water heater! Hope yhat helps. It's a few bucks to fix!

Yes I've had 7 years of egg water. Bought my 1st home at 21, in the sticks and had a well. The pump was truly a nightmare, it needed to be primed every like 6 months. Was quite annoying. Ya live n learn 😂❤😊

I’ll be honest, it will probably smell even after you replace the hot water heater. Sulphur water stinks… if you let it run a minute it goes away. It kind of comes with country living. I grew up on a farm in Appalachia and it is what it is. Expect your pretty white sinks to stain yellow/rust color.

My husband and I built a house 20 years ago. We drilled a new well and shortly after we moved in we had that rotten egg smell in our water. Our plumber explained that sometimes with a well you will hit pockets of sulphur. He said it shouldn't last long and would go away on it's own. In our case it did. Praying that yours will resolve itself also.
