Will Tanner and George Bagby are the best guests. Very much enjoy the doses of history they bring to the table.

This show is the most compelling shit on KZbin. The guests are just too good. Unrivaled

Great to listen to you. I feel that America is too large a country for a real culture to form, there are no boundaries to hold anything intact, that's a big problem if you want something to grow. The ancient British were warriors, they laid down their lives, they were Elite in the true meaning of the word. Henry VIII apparently took mass 3 times a day whilst hunting. It's interesting this change in the use of "condescending" ... one may romanticise the earlier politeness ... but that was already a period of decay. In even earlier times Elite men controlled society on the basis of their service and spirit they had no need of politeness. In our current era all such words like Elite are pale shadows of their original meaning ... our society is winding down, it is flowing quickly downstream away from the source of things. As for banking ... the fact is that in America many rivers of entropy are running open .... they are nothing but plundering and sap all life either financially or culturally. Such a situation cannot rise. It would be interesting to consider how "culture" or the moral spirit of England could have been better rooted in America, or even unified.

Wonder how much the rise of corporations play a role in the UK, perhaps was still more the merchant class for most of the decay of their nobles but I suspect the advent of corporations was a final nail in the coffin.

I don‘t get the obsession of the Right with farmers, one of the most subsidized group ever.

I'd rather pay money to and have my countrymen make food here than import Bongolian cucumbers

@Fulgrim-l5d I don‘t. Autarky is a chimera for most countries.
@Fulgrim-l5d2 күн бұрын
@rudi5139 there are options between autarky and whoring out your country for international finance. Also preferring Bomalian produce should be grounds for deportation.
@Fulgrim-l5d2 күн бұрын
@@rudi5139think my previous comment was removed (thanks Ranjeet), but there exist options between autarky and becoming a prostitute for international finance. We've managed to have working industries and farming while importing luxury/foreign goods since the Phonesians were kicking around.

Because of heavy regulations lobbied by the large food conglomerates.
