This was the time of sweet & innocent Michael with his brothers. You could see his great talent & charisma even at this young age. The Jackson 5 had a lot of hits in the 60's-70's such as "I Want You Back", "Never Can Say Goodbye", "Rockin' Robin", "The Love You Save", "I'll Be There", "Mama's Pearl", "Sugar Daddy" etc. Michael Jackson's solo career started in the 70's with the songs "Got To Be There" & "Ben".

That's a lie. There were plenty of songs where he was not the lead. If there's never a Jackson 5, there would never have been a Michael Jackson. That was really dumb

The Osmonds actually recorded One Bad Apple and were told to sound as close to the Jackson Five so folks would think it was them. It paid off and it went to Number One. However, despite their popularity The Jackson Five almost weren't in the White Teen Magazines but in 1971 Right On was created. It is the sister magazine of Tiger Beat.

The Jacksons: An American Dream. Music was Joesph's (their Dad's passion). He used the kids to live his dreams. Original lineup of The Jackson 5 was Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, Marlon, and Michael.

MJ isn't dead. The establishment, who controlled him, were trying to destroy him and he was 'taken out' for his own safety. He is very good friends with Donald Trump and he wouldn't see anything happen to Michael. Michael knows how sick the music industry is and started talking out about it, which couldn't be tolerated. MJ will come back into the light once the evil has been dealt with, if he chooses to do so.

What made the Jackson 5 particularly Michael stand out was he was so young, he can sing so well and he was singing love songs. Most kids at that age do not have such control and ability to harmonize.

They were part of Motown, so their music, outfits, choreography were chosen for them, just like for other groups, like the Temptations. It ran like a well oiled machine, and produced some of the best groups and music of that time. I was born the same year as Michael and was such a big fan of the Jackson 5!! I think you would like, "The Love you Save" and "I'll be There" 😊

Michael, Post cereal company had this record on the back of the Post Alphabet Cereal box as a promo item. You were able to cut the record out if you followed the dotted lines. I cut the record out and played it on my parent’s stereo and the sound was unbelievably good. I was the same age as Michael Jackson in this video, 10 years old. What a great time to grow up in.

The Osmonds were another family music group. 4 of the elder brothers began as a barbershop quartet . They reached the height of their fame in the early to mid-1970s. With the addition of Donny (BIG TEEN IDOL), the group became known as a rock band & launched them to the top. The Osmond and Jackson families meet in 1970's and become friends. Michael & Donny had experienced similarities being so young. Later in life Donny's career stalled & couldn't get a record deal. Michael gave him some advice... “‘Well, you got to change your name. Your name is poison!’” Donny recorded ‘Soldier of Love’ & the song was played as a "mystery artist". The promotion kept listeners guessing who the artist was for weeks. He's still performing. After 11 years in Vagas he's touring 3 countries and has 75 upcoming concerts. Both family histories are interesting.

While the Jacksons speak for themselves, I feel like I should mention Dick Clark. For decades, he was known as "America's Oldest Teenager" with a rather youthful appearance until a stroke in the 2000s. He died in 2012, but if you watch the ball drop on TV from Times Square on New Year's Eve, ABC's program still has his name (Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve). In addition to hosting Bandstand, he hosted The $25,000 Pyramid and co-hosted TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes (with Ed McMahon).

Michael Jackson (born in 1958) was 11 or 12 at the time this song was released (1970). For several years at the beginning of Michael's career, Barry Gordy, the head of Motown records, lied about his age to make him seem just a bit more of a phenom. Gordy also made up the story that the group had been discovered by Diana Ross, another Motown star, which was a total fiction. They were actually discovered by Motown producer Bobby Taylor. Barry was hella promoting his label and his stars, building a mythology around them.

This was from American Bandstand in 1970. the two other folks were Johnny Jackson (Drums) and Ronnie Rancifer (Organ) but were later let go. Johnny had a drinking problem but it was because he and Ronnie felt that they weren't appreciated. They worked with these guys when they were starting out then felt they were putting to the wayside. Michael was only 11 going on 12. This was performed in January 1970.
