MA - 間, is the first Japanese concept that I sought out and learned. I did not realize at the time, it was making space for all of the other teachings that would follow ✨ In my home I have a beautiful painting that represents ascension and restoration. It is the theme of my journey right now. Thank You so much for all your important teachings 🙏

great topic. i read fumio sasaki good bye things a while ago.... good eye opener. i am trying to declutter and reduce my things in my home. just feel like it is so suffocating with so much stuff. interestingly, in Hinduism in Vastu and Vedic astrology, one of the remedies to improve well being, planetary influence is to declutter and basically become a minimalist both externally and internally. thank you as always

Very informative ❤ I know of a prayer in Shinto, I think it is called Harahi no Kotoba there is a pause, a moment of silence after the line: amatsu Norito... I felt that this is a significance of creating space to allow the Kami-sama to manifest. To allow things to manifest. Thank you for reminding me of this.

"Minimalistic" comes from "Minimalism" which was an idea in "conceptual art" represented by artists like Karl Andre (the brick artist). It was concerned with simple units, also Frank Stella's early black white paintings. These artists, the intelligent few, were interested in John Cage and others who were reading D.T.Suzuki and understood, or misunderstood Zen Buddhism. So it's a kind of full circle. This word "minimalist" has like the word "zen" become somewhat removed from any original meaning. In Britain say 'I want my room to look a bit.. you know "minimalist" a bit "zen"'.'
