In its short history Moontech has made a massive space for itself in the Japanese stance scene. Pushing boundaries when it comes to fitment, Taguchi-san and his team have built some of the most memorable cars of the past few years, winning awards left and right at both Tokyo Auto Salon and Wekfest.
I wanted to drop by, have a chat with the man behind the operation and see what they are working on next. I got the surprise of my my life when I walked in on him cutting the rear fenders on an R34 Skyline GT-R! Hit play and enjoy!

Really appreciate how you take the time to contextualize the locations you take the cars to and not just the cars themselves. That school/temple really provided a beautiful offset backdrop; newer car with an aggressive body kit against the older/serene styling of the buildings and landscape. If you had to guess, what do you think the split would be for shops in cities vs out in the countryside? Know space/land in Japan is such a premium, wonder if it's easier to find a building to run a shop out of in the rural areas, but wonder just how badly that affects customer availability.

Def easier in the countryside but with Japan’s entire population wanting to live in Tokyo and other major cities shops can’t be positioned too far out in the nothingness that has become the Japanese countryside

Once you go stanced there’s no way back lol While I’m not a huge fan of stanced cars, I have to admit they look very good/aggressive. Quite amazing the amount of detailed work involved to get cars this way. Happy New Year! Thanks for the video.

Amazing video as always, Dino!!!!!!!! It’s fascinating to hear Taguchi-san’s idea for Moontech and see his projects, especially the GR86, while also learning about the context of the temple. I love seeing new names pop up the scene and gain the recognition they deserve. BTW, are there any plans to visit Bee*R in the future? I think it would be really interesting to hear what Ginga Imai has planned for the shop’s future and its current direction. I hope my question doesn’t come across as a request or seem disrespectful. I truly appreciate your work and the effort you put into bringing these vlogs to the platform, thank you for your hard work and dedication!!!
