Yknow what I love about this the most? The community building. The young, the elderly and the working adults participate in the harvest festival and competition annually. Especially when we are in a society of urbanisation, and generally the younger moves to cities, and only a smaller minority moves back to smaller towns and villages. There's something extra to look forward to every year aside from the regular festivals, and brings people together.

Sunny does it all bro. But I get you. Since he showed me Andrew I had to subscribe as well.❤

Totally agree! I have to admit I’ve stopped watching Sunny’s videos after he started doing the more expensive/high end travel / restaurant / experiences but I always watch Andrew’s videos as his content is always so interesting and informative.

My hometown is in Aichi Prefecture, which is next to Gifu Prefecture. When I was a child, we often used fireworks smoke to drive away bees, captured the remaining hive, and brought it home. My father would eat it as a snack with his sake. Stir-fried with butter, it tastes amazing.

You’re a huge inspiration bro. Top tier content. Idk if you have a background in journalism, but if not, you’re a damn natural. Kudos big dawg 👊🏻

Thanks for the upload. I was born and left Laos at six. I’ve been to Thailand, Japan and through China. I wouldn’t mind eating insect larvae as my parents have told me how good they are. After seeing a lot of videos on KZbin, I would concur it also.

Insect food was traditionally precious in inland area. In the past, food supply and food production were not enough. So, inland people had eaten insect and freshwater fish. In modern Japan the above are local and traditional food.

mmm.. goheimochi with that walnut miso paste caramelized on top is so good... but i don't think i want to eat suzumebachi... i've had bee larvae(hachinoko) in Nagano before and it's really not my thing, i'll stick to candied crickets(inago tsukudani) from Tokyo instead.

The Japanese People always thinks of the weirdest and most unique things, I can't imagine they have figured out that these bugs can be eaten, in my area these Hornets are quite dangerous and its usually being exterminated maybe I should learn how to export these bugs to Japan and make a profit out of it instead of killing and exterminating them 😅
