Just two words: so great! Another song to cherish and still so good sounding after all these years. It's always a treat to hear this music brought by heavenly voices. Also, don't forget about the great version by The Jaguars, from 1956...

The Jarmels, another outstanding sound. Doo-Wop, the greatest sounding music to one's ear.

Pul and the the great bass passed on close to each other and that was it for this great vocal group. We were fortunate that we saw them when we did.Bunch of times at UGHA and once at Radio Caity Music Hall. Thanks again Gil.

This is the real Jarmels it is a shame they couldn't make a comeback before they started passing away. They were hometown heros. That had a moment of fame.

Fantastic video, Gill! Paul Burnett sounds just as he did 40 years ago when I heard his beautiful voice in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Thanks so much for posting. RIP, Paul.

Love the song itself --listened to way to many versions over the years..I always listen with a open mind and a hopeful heart but no one-solo or group has ever even came close to the Jarmel's..And Yes,Paul is very definitely Cool

Paul Burnett (Original Lead) and Tom Eldridge (Original Bass) led their own Jarmels group in the 90s. Really wish they’d reunited with Ray Smith and Nathaniel Ruff if he’d still been alive at that point to honor their friend and group mate Earl Christian (KIA, Vietnam 1968).

What a lead voice. If this rendition went head to head with the Letterman version how could you not take the Jarmels' version?

Thank you Gil Torres for posting this fabulous song. In 1961 when we had 45 singles I intended to play "A Little Bit Of Soap" and put the B-side "The Way You Look Tonight" on by accident and I was pleasantly surprised. The string arrangement on this tune is outstanding. Now 47 years later thanks to you I finally get a chance to see The Jarmels perform one of my all time favorites. Would you by any chance have the follow-up, "I Will Follow You"?

No doubt about it, Paul Burnett was pure talent. And, don't forget the rest of the Jarmels. Paul, and the rest of the guys are as cool as a cucumber. I'm going to try, and do a 24/7, and play this song.

This lead singer, Paul Burnett, is/was a natural if ever there was one. Pitch perfect. Effortless tenor range. Sounds a lot like their great original lead, Nathaniel Ruff. The Jarmels had it. Sadly underrated.

Saw the Jarmels in Virginia Saturday, as part of huge multi-group review. It wasn't the same with the different lead, but still a good performance. The show itself, by the way, was fantastic (Flamingos, Jive Five, Shirley Alston, Vogues, Tokens, etc., etc.).

@dowopper51 In this instance charting isn't relevant. What he's obviously saying that the Jarmels DEFINED the song, whether it was buried on a B side or not. (Back in those days when we didn't own a lot of records, we always wound up listening to both sides!) Who would ever want to hear the Lettermen after hearing this?
