Love the old compressor for the 1” drive gun. We had to do the same in our workshop. The only problem is you can ring the nuts off if you’re not careful. You need to grease guns, cordless for out in the yard and one mounted on the wall that runs off a compressor just for the workshop. Have a good weekend Tom

Tom, get an air powered bulk grease gun for the workshop. Then, remove the bleeder screw blanking plug thing from the top of your manual grease gun, and replace it with a grease nipple. Quick easy re-filling, and no more air locks from having the top off.

Funny thing about having a pit. You think about getting one for a while then you build one and then you wonder how did you get stuff done back before you got one in. To date we have never put the cover boards on our pit because there is a motor on it every day. They do make life a lot easy then before. As a footnote Perkins make some really nice diesel engines. Often fitted to narrow boat and run as a wet exaust cooling system. have a great day Tom....

Pits seem so useful. Something annoying like an oil change can be done so quickly. No need for jack stands or laying on the floor.

@@TheRealTburt yes, I am happy to say that oil changes and exaust fit ups don't bust my back on cold concrete anymore. Life got better....

I was wondering why the muck spreader would have Ag tires on undriven wheels, but I think I have worked it out. The wheels drive the spreader mechanism, which could load them enough to make then drag in some situations. Is that right? I see they are mounted the other way round to driven wheels which makes sense. You farmers are clever buggers! 🚜👨🎓

Get yourself some round bar and stick it on the lathe and make yourself some proper extensions for that pit jack. Bore a hole in 1 end to slide onto the end of the ram, and thin the other end so the dish fits on that. That wood will end up spitting using it that way
