The time line is where they all fail if a person wasn't at least nine years old to maybe fifteen years old in say 1970 you definitely wouldn't know what it was according to them that wasn't their introduction to it happened later o and they are basing it on the commercialization of it prior to that what the youth were doing had no title commercially and young kids wasn't filming parties the parties was just them enjoying their everyday life having fun kids didn't have cameras and things any money they did get more than likely went to equipment for DJ-ing records, speakers, turn tables, fashions so basically they are saying once people started to pay attention to what the youth were doing when pictures and cameras started coming out now by this time other groups were involved and then the name hip hop got attached to what they were doing as far as breaking black people create new dances all the time they get played out so the Latinos just happened to keep that dance going it would be considered an old dance at that point I guess some just don't get it
