There were episodes where Mother Jefferson supported Louise. She physically attacked George’s sleazy friend who was molesting Louise. That provides important balance to this hilarity - otherwise the character would just appear malicious. This is something modern sitcoms overlook. So everyone looks mean and sounds plain nasty - instead of funny.

The channel's name is an insult. Lear stole most of his work from strings of young writers, never gave recognition and respect to black actors, and most of all he didn't even the cast of The Jefferson' how famous they were in Europe. What pr^ck.
