Underrated??? Ja'net has NEVA been underrated by ANY1!!! Maybe u just didnt hear much about her where ur from, but trust me, she was an American Treasure in our Community since this song was 1st played on TV in 1975... She was already a shining star on the TV show "Good Times" since 1974 even after the John Amos was fired... Some of us even thot Sherman Hemsley was singing the male part of that song too (guilty😅) She upheld Good Times the last 3 seasons back wen there was actual FULL seasons, haaa!😅

I’m curious which episode this is from or if it is from another source because this copy goes farther than the Season 6 Episode 7 (The Expectant Father) ending does. It is close, but this one is just a little bit longer unless there are two halves put together (the piano intro with the rarely heard first part with singing followed by the second usually heard part with the humming that normally follows the piano intro without the singing part). I’ve been through every episode of every season I can find, and I can’t find one where the ending matches this one. Season 6 Episode 7 is as close to this copy as I can find but stops several seconds short of this one before it gets to “yeah we finally, finally, finally, got a piece of the pie.”

She was actually the cowriter. The main writer was Jeff Barry. Now, even if you don't know his name; you know his work. He, along with female songwriting partner Ellie Greenwich, wrote stuff like Da Doo Ron Ron & Then He Kissed Me for The Crystals, Hanky Panky for The Raindrops then covered by Tommy James, and River Deep-Mountain High for Ike and Tina Turner. Hope this helps.
