Some commenters are saying that the regular Dukes were on strike at the time of this episode. Are they referring to the 1980 Actors Strike, or John Schneider and Tom Wopat’s 1982 contract dispute? This episode of Family Feud would have been from the 1980-81 season as the one episode of The Dukes of Hazzard that Christopher Hensel appeared in aired on February 13, 1981. Also Isabel Sanford mentioned that The Jeffersons had been on the air for seven seasons. The 1980-81 season was the seventh season of The Jeffersons. Therefore this episode definitely wouldn’t have aired when John Schneider and Tom Wopat had temporarily left The Dukes of Hazzard. I don’t think the 1980 Actors Strike would have prevented the major stars of The Dukes of Hazzard from appearing in this episode of Family Feud. All five celebrity contestants for The Jeffersons were significant cast members. Both The Jeffersons and The Dukes of Hazzard had late starts to the 1980-81 television season (November 1980) due to the actors strike.

There have been quite a few comments about The Dukes of Hazzard having such a mediocre cast for this City vs Country tournament. Well Dallas also had a less than optimal cast. Ken Kercheval, Steve Kanaly and Susan Howard were significant regulars that competed for Dallas’ team. However the cast also included Meg Gallagher and Jeff Cooper, neither of whom were long term regulars.

When you have 147 episodes, I consider 19 episodes to be fewer than "many", especially when most of those appearances were brief. None of those actors had a credit in the opening title sequence except for Rick Hurst during the episodes that he was in, and even he was a discount Sonny Shroyer, who was in almost twice as many episodes as Hurst, and was the original actor for the deputy sheriff role. In no particular order, John Schneider, Tom Wopat, Catherine Bach, Denver Pyle, Sorrell Booke, James Best, Sonny Shroyer, and Ben Jones were the major stars of the show.

Not everyone wanted Richard to kiss them on the lips and Richard kissed plenty of not- so "attractive" and not-so "shapely" women on the lips . Also, there was an Indian family on and Richard kissed neither the wife nor daughter. Even Richard had a limit, though in this case, not because he didn't want to, but he knew Indian culture didn't play that.
