In a strange way, I found this show to be very cathartic.. Synopsis: Jerrod Carmichael navigates friends, family, and strangers, in his quest for love, sex, and connection. Links: linktr.ee/swaghili123

His reality show makes him look awful he cheats on his bf ON CAMERA and also had to call so many friends he was awful to and apologize which… is nice I guess but he’s obviously not a good friend. Then there’s the weird slavery jokes just the whole thing is awful

The awkward interview thing is just tired now I’m sorry not being a hater 😅

Yea no it’s bad & everything he’s done, like 5 other tv shows in his career that are just cheap directive knock off variations of other shows that were almost immediately cancelled due to low quality & poor reception so now all this hyper “vulnerable” ~queer~ “reality” tv bs feels like clickbait gimmick attempting to garner sympathy & maybe camaraderie within lgbtq community since that’s more attainable for him than praise for his actual content

I feel as if the interview with Tyler was Jerrod trying to leverage the bond between them. Jerrod has power over other people when bringing in his camera crew, and this interview was obviously something that should have been a private conversation. The answer to Jerrod's question was obviously to move on, he's intelligent enough to know that, but why use a camera crew to try and intimidate Tyler to give an answer?

Tyler hasn’t really come out so it seems us uncomfortable for me.

he really doesn't need to. Seems like he's used to confessions at this point. and he can be on TV and just as unbothered. Jerrod being in his feelings without any reciprocation is a red flag. Is like... tyler been his boy and he ain't know how to have this convo w him... he really doesn't like the man...seemed kinda clout chasy to me

I like most of Jerrod Carmichel's stand up specials. However these Documentaries seem too self indulgent to me. Most of his family and friends are regular Southern working class people that Jerrod keeps trying to make them famous just because he himself is obsessed with celebrity.

To me this "reality show" comes off as disingenuous and self indulgent. Jerrod Carmichael is also not a sympathetic figure. His jokes about slavery & race play are not only cringe worthy but damaging to black people as a whole and especially black gay people. His scene with Tyler is also cringey considering that if he's Tyler's friend, Jerrod should know he's not Tyler's type....he doesn't pass the brown paper bag test.

Yea I typically hate that bs trope people like Kat Williams talks about of black men having to feminize or degrade themselves in order to appeal to the masses or just to be pushed by their agents or w/e but Michael’s career arc is almost a caricature of that concept. he should just wear a dress next to fully embody that conspiratorial stereotype lol
