I love and breath the Reid Brothers. After reading their auto bio, it’s clear that their main influences of the Phil Spector wall of sound and the Velvet Underground are gloriously distilled and on display on this classic track. Definitely one of my favorites from the boys from Killbride.

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Some Candy Talking - Song lyrics I'm going down to the place tonight To see if I can get the taste tonight A taste of something warm and sweet That shivers your bones and rises to your heat I'm going down to the place tonight The damp and hungry place tonight Should all the stars shine in the sky They couldn't outshine your sparkling eyes But it's so hard to be the one To touch and tease and to do it all for fun But it's too much for a young heart to take Cause hearts are the easiest things you could break And I talk to the filth, and I walk through the door I'm knee deep in myself, but I want to get more of that stuff Of that stuff Some candy talking Some candy talking Talk And I want, and I want Some candy talking (x 4) Some candy talk (x 4) I love the way she's walking I love the way she's talking It's just the way she's walking It's just the way she's talking And I need all that stuff Give me some of that stuff I want you, candy, I want you, candy And I need, give me some of your stuff Give me some I want your candy. I want your candy I want your candy. I want your candy I want stuff

Ah was like YEAH MAN its brilliant...brilliant to meet someone else who knows...and the lady with him then goes ''he's in the band''! dont think was an original member but a touring memeber i think! still surrela or synchronicity or law of attraction or omens!

My ever favourite song of them. Still goosebumps 22 years ago since I listened to it for the first time. That cassette TDK, my bro's cassette. Psychocandy was on side A, don't remember what we had on side two. I remember getting drunk on my teens and listened to this song as I arrived to my bedroom. I'm getting old ;) Just see them play two days ago in Mexico and they were tight as hell. Really, really good. They played this song among many others. Missed some Stoned and Dethroned songs at their gig, as that is a really good record as well. That Velvet vive yeah. Have a nice day!

... and 35ish years after I came across a cassette with recorded EP in a half-obscure book shop (obscure for "non-obscure" ppl at the time :) ) l'll be having the first time in my life an opportunity to hear it live. 2000 km away from home. 35 years. The Reid-bros-hairstyle freak was right: time's (so) relative. and so true in my case, since this thing still moves most of my body fluids. Einstein has also said that it was a popular pseudoscientific BS, but in my next life I want to be born in Glasgow 1960: to see Pele live and these peers of mine.
