Nah, I disagree. Just like Sappy and I hate myself. Sappy is one of if not my favorite song of theirs of all time, depending on the mood. But it didn't fit. Kurt knew what he was doing and chose not to use them. Plus sometimes when you write newer songs you want people to hear them more than older one. Even though Dumb and Pennyroyal were both a few years old

Thank you for including the extensive detailed information about this release. I was very pleased to see that you made reference to the lighter clicks and more specifically their absence from the version which appeared on the With The Lights Out set. I raced out to acquire myself a CD copy of this single the moment it became available here in Australia. One of those 7'' picture discs was snapped up by a friend of my who raced out with me I recall. Sadly at some point between then and the point in time where With The Lights Out hit the shelves I had been relieved of Oh, The Guilt along with my entire extensive and much beloved collection of CDs by folks who no doubt sold the lot for the minimum amount of money required to purchase heroin. It must be difficult to imagine a world in which a single Nirvana tune can disappear from one's life and remain absent 'til it becomes available again on a different release for many these days but long story short it was profoundly disappointing to find I was listening to some alternate mix of what is probably my favourite Nirvana song and easily one of my favourite songs of all time. It's not something I would be able to explain to anybody who doesn't already know what I'm talking about here but I missed those little lighter clicks as much as I'd been missing the song itself over the years. But that was back in the dark ages before KZbin and uploaders who take such as yourself who take the time to add value to the relatively simple act of sharing clips. Although I've been the proud owner of numerous Nirvana releases including another copy of Puss/Oh, The Guilt for a decade at least at this point I've been left wondering if anyone else out there would even know what I was talking about if I mentioned those very special clicks. Hopefully the vivid emotional roller coaster which my retelling of this saga hasn't proven to be too excruciating for you Thanks again

Kurt never made it a secret back then that he didn´t have a clue why Nirvana was picked out from all these much more talented ,sophisticated ,in each and every way ,bands such as The Jesus Lizard, , Tad, Mudhoney , Melvins etc ... well, yeah, I guess Buzz Osbourne´s explanation in some interview made a lot of sense : Big Labels were picking up bands not so much based on talent but on how the frontman looked like ( "that cute wounded junkie look for the girls" ).
@Druffmaul6 жыл бұрын
Give me a fucking break. Nirvana did the Sliver/Dive single in 1990 and as soon as the hip tastemakers heard it, everyone was saying "God damn, can you imagine how great their second album's gonna be???" and they became darlings of the underground scene. That was when they surpassed Mudhoney and were basically second only to Sonic Youth. It's no wonder they got snapped up before the second album existed, and it shouldn't be a mystery to anyone who was there at the time. Kurt was just being humble and Buzz was being his usual snarky cynical smart ass self.

Saraiva Toledo nah I don't think that's it. What separates nirvana from the ones that didn't get as popular was Kurt's ability to write incredible pop melodies

that was him being humble. he knew and said NIRVANA was more accessible than all those other bands. And NIRVANA was respected in the underground scene. Sonic Youth picked them to go on tour with them. that was the ultimate honor. you're just some hater
