In five more years, it will come completely amazing.

How many times a year do they spawn then, while being zapped? Or do they grow somehow differently in that case? That is a huge growth in 12 month

Great job. Was this structure placed over a sandy bottom? My concern is if there were any corals or coral encrusted live rock underneath the structure you placed. As the relocated corals continue to grow they will block any sunlight from reaching the bottom thus not reaching any original corals. That giant claim pictured in the video that is in the bottom of the structure clearly will have to be relocated in the near future for fear of lack of sunlight. Thanks for your efforts on saving coral reefs.

This is interesting it can actually be used as a form of camouflage for the Military or a form to drew more attention of the world to underwater structures that permit people to walk into the seafloor and to see because this approach can be used to create sea gardens especially for Sea World and other companies that dedicate themselves to the ocean and anything and everything regarding the ocean.

We did something similar in Bali.... it's all dead now, in 2016 a severe heating event killed it all.

Hi! I'm working on a project in school and I would like to know if I could do it at home in a aquarium, Thanks
@AMellowSkater3 жыл бұрын
it would work until all of the calcium in the water is deposited on the frame and then it would stop working I assume and the corals would have no bioavailable calcium

The growth is amazing! Can you do an update?
@thejetlagged3 жыл бұрын
We hope we can do that soon and will, as soon as we can travel back to Indonesia! But our friends who are still there told us the Biorocks look amazing at the moment!

Does the zinc coating on the chain link have any adverse effects with coral growth?
@r0cketplumber3 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure, but the cathodic voltage on the grid should be enough to keep even the zinc from corroding, even though zinc usually provides protection to iron by corroding first. If the power is turned off, then the zinc would corrode until gone, and finally the iron would start to rust.

won't it rusted away?
@thejetlagged5 жыл бұрын
No, the electrolysis prevents it from rusting! And after a year, it's thickly covered with coral limestone...
