I loved this video Chris. Our first visit to Italy was about 15+ years ago(?). We stayed in Rome for a week or so (of course) then we rented a B&B in Agropoli. Luigi ran it and cooked our dinners for us. It was beautiful! One day we drove to Paestum and had an amazing time walking amongst the 2500 year old ruins. Later on as we were driving away we saw a cattle ranch full of water buffalo. It was an amazing experience and your video brought it all back. Can't wait to go back! Grazie mille!

Hi Frank! That sounds amazingly nice! Paestum is truly an experience. AS you already know it is more than just ruins. It has a totally spiritual feel to it. I can't wait to go back!

Can’t wait to be able to go back to Italy! Still interested in a little apartment in Santa Dominica I saw online so hopefully can see it soon! Happy New Year and thanks for the updates! It would be great if someone in the town could give a video tour of the town on their Facebook page or post current pics. Can’t find a lot of updated info on Santa Dominica..

When I was living in Napoli I visited Paestum as a field trip for my class with the University of Laverne. Professor Michael Karris took us there and we walked around the ancient town, walked down it's main road. The temples were impressive. If you like Paestum, strongly recommend you visit Assisi. Hearing the Franciscan monks singing vespers in the Gothic church is an ethereal experience.

Hi Ron! I cannot wait to see Assisi. Antonello was there for a weekend and loved it.

Greetings from southern Indiana, USA! A few years ago I spent a few days in Salerno. (About 1943-44 the 5th Army visited there. They were moving the Germans out, who left a mess. They didn't want to leave. It's been fixed up since then!) Anyway, one of my days was to take the train to Paestum. Absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, it was a day with scattered showers -- only when I was outside! When I was inside the museum it stopped raining. That's travel!

Hi Louis! I have read about what occurred in Italy and seen some of the remnants of German occupation but much of it has been cleared away. I am so glad you got to experience Paestum. It is wonderful there and I am so happy you got to see it. I hope we can all see it together sometime in the future.

That is a magnificent destination Chris! Hard to believe it’s not as well known as other architectural treasures from that era.....and much better preserved than many. Incredible. The wild flowers from the end of the video also got my attention! Thanks for touching on the logistics of it all. It’s helpful in getting my mind around how one gets about in the region. I’ll admit that’s been a mental stumbling block for me. 👍🏻
