@billybobby3202 жыл бұрын
His performances are always better, i. My opinion its way cooler if you can play the same song a different way everytime you play it, nowadays its kinda more based around sounding just like the record, but this is so raw its like a true test of skill, the band held together great to the point that when they sounded bad they still sounded good,
@SuperJiggawhat2 жыл бұрын
I like the albums better. Those were masterpieces from Jimi. Breaking through with fuzz and distortion to the masses. A concert only goes so far. A physical album with music and pictures is how he wanted to be wanted. White women is what he dreamed about, and guitar is what the dreams told. The guitar is specifically speaking to you. Youz the listener. If you don't get it, pass it along like a joint, a joke and a gesture. You will only understand once you've experienced. Break through....

Hendrix was one of a kind, he used to play with Little Richard's band at one stage, when he was starting out, with quite a few of the old time rocker bands of the day, but as he played everything his own way (the loose raunchy style he shows in this video) the band leaders didn't take to him, he was too uncontrolled, and went for the over driven volume, to achieve sustain, (natural sustain I might add), he knew how to control it, but it didn't take off, this was his way, and style of playing guitar. (Little Richard claims he discovered Hendrix) Feedback was a tool for him, he knew how to use it to his advantage. Back in his day, guitar peddles mostly hadn't been developed to any great degree, like they all are today. He used a Fuzz box, and a Wah Wah peddle, and would use them together quite a lot. Marshall amps gave Hendrix his volume and sustain for live gigs, there weren't any big Sound System's (PAs) in his day. Most musicians used banks of amps, and speakers hooked together to achieve volume, and being able to hear a sense of their vocals back at that time. Hendrix used a twin reverb Fender guitar amp, with 2 x 12 inch speakers in the studio, for recording, on stage for live situations, he used a Fender Twin reverb, with 2 x 12 inch speakers, 2 of these setups incase of breakdowns during a show. Hendrix ran the Fender Twins into the Marshall amp stacks, may have miked up as well, as the Fenders deliver a clean solid sound, have a lot more control over the sound, and through into the Marshall's, gave him volume, and the ability to achieve his studio sound, (in a live situation). Hendrix changed the way guitarist's played and used an electric guitar. This is what he did, an innovator for sure. He wasn't possibly better than other guitarists of his time, people like Rick Deringer, Johnny Winter, these 2 guitarists were purists blue style guitarists, as good technically as Hendrix, they both had control over their volume and ability over the sustain. People like Stevie Ray Vaughn, had a reputation of copying Hendrix, in some ways he developed a similar technique of playing similar to Hendrix, but he never was like Hendrix, a little too clinical in comparison. Both Winter and Deringer had a similar looseness to their playing, especially Johnny Winter, who is very unique, one of a kind guitarist. Buddy Guy Albert King, both very good guitarists, have a similar style, and technique to their guitar playing. Larry Carlton is a man alone guitar player, quite technical in his style. We can go back to Gary Moore, Gibbons, these guys are both great guitar players, Robben Ford, but very very different to Hendrix. The song 'Stone Free' can be found on the original record, 45 single, with 'Hey Joe' and 'Stone Free' on the flip side. The 'Are You Experienced' Jimi Hendrix LP album, may have both these songs on it, but don't quote me. I do have this original album, but haven't pulled it out to check my information. There are live recording's, of Hendrix, found mainly on live video concerts of him. As usual, each time, the song may not be note for note to the original, such as this footage of Hendrix doing 'Red House' live, it's a bit slower than the studio version, drags somewhat, and he leaves out his vocal line, that because (my baby don't live here no more, that's OK, I've still got my guitar) so it will be different each time he performs a song. I love Hendrix version of (In From The Storm) a very complex arrangement, but it works. Back in the day, drummers playing a double kit, were definately rare, 'Cream's' Ginger Baker was unique for his time, but when Hendrix came along, Mitch Mitchell was definatey on, in my opinion. Mitch is a Jazz drummer, Ginger was blues orientated, plus Mitchell played more like a rock drummer, but had the Jazz feels going on, he was another innovator, changed and influenced drummer's the world over. The music world can give much thanks to the 'Jimi Hendrix Experience' they were (are) great. It all got better from there.

Andrew S. No way.Hendrix and Eddie Kramer worked very hard to create his sound. Hendrix was a perfectionist. On the second album he expanded his music, which took more time to put down on tape. This lead to the break- up with Chandler, who wanted Jimi to go back to the first album format: one take and out. He would often spend all day just putting his leads/ sounds on one song by the third album.
